The High End Makeup Worth The Splurge

While I’m a massive fan of cheap makeup, sometimes a luxury makeup item just makes you feel a million… pounds? (It really doesn’t feel the same as saying a million bucks or a million dollars… but I’m British and they don’t feel right!). But I totally agree that there’s nothing more frustrating than paying £30 for something, getting it home, and then it being a little naff! So I thought I’d share with you my favourite high end makeup items I think are worth every penny!

NARS Blush in Orgasm

I mean not only have I learnt (while having this as part of my project pan) that this is just a never ending product, and so you’re definitely going to get your money’s worth… but also it’s just such a gorgeous everyday blush shade! It has the most subtle bit of glow to it that leaves you looking healthy and sunkissed and I’m just obsessed!

Mac Lipsticks

I mean can you beat a Mac Lipstick? While they’re arguably not the best formula out there… there’s just something about them! And I love that you can literally get any shade you want in any finish!

Benefit Hoola Bronzer

Such an iconic bronzer, this is the product that made me really fall in love with bronzers! It’s pigmented, easy to blend and super long lasting! There’s just something about it!

OFRA Long Lasting Liquid Lipstick

I’ve actually had two of this shade (Charmed) in the old and new packaging… and it’s such a gem! Comfortable, long lasting, natural looking and the perfect your lips but better shade! Just can’t go wrong!

Mac Studio Fix Fluid

This is such a beautiful buildable foundation! It has a lovely satin finish (at least on my combination skin) and this is the PERFECT shade match for me! I also love how this wears on my skin!

Dior Backstage Foundation

Another one of my project 10 pan products this is the foundation that never finishes… seriously I’ve been using this daily for 4 months now and there’s STILL product left (though I’m nearly there). This is the most gorgeous medium to high coverage foundation! I would 100% repurchase this when I’ve finished it… albeit in the lighter shade as this is too dark!

Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes Mascara

I feel like you need to know what this mascara is before you buy it… but if you’re looking for a natural, fluttery mascara that gives you good length and colour without too much volume (which is especially what I love on my bottom lashes) this is your one!

Tarte Blushes

Another stunning blush formula! These just look so natural and gorgeous on the cheeks! Plus the packaging is just super cute!

Charlotte Tilbury Instant Look In A Palette

This feels expensive when you buy it… but you do get a bronzer, highlighter, blush and eyeshadow look all in one palette! And everything is gorgeous, blendable, easy to use and creates the most gorgeous, natural, everyday look! The bronzer in here in particular is GORGEOUS!

Tarte Park Ave Princess Bronzer

I’m never 100% sure why, but when I use this bronzer on my face I always notice how gorgeous my skin looks! There is something about this formula in that it looks so good on your skin! And the colour is PERFECT!

IT CC Cream

Hands down my favourite base. This is super quick and easy to apply, it gives you really good coverage without feeling heavy at all, it lasts really well on the skin and gives you an extra bit of SPF coverage! Just my favourite foundation product ever!

Vieve The Essential Palette

Oh. My. God! I am obsessed! This is the most gorgeous neutral palette ever! You have a whole host of gorgeous warm toned matte and shimmer shades with a black and a cool toned brown. I just feel like this is the perfect everyday palette, but also lets you do something a little more bold and night time appropriate too! Just love it!

Anastasia Beverly Hills Soft Glam Palette

One of the OG Warm Toned Neutral Palette… this is one of the most used palettes in my collection! The formula is just so blendable! I find they can be a little chalky once you’ve had your palette for a while (as in it’s not ageing as well as the other palettes in my collection), but for the first 1-2 years, it’s a stunner!

What are your favourite high end or luxury makeup items? I’m always up for trying something new!

  1. Oh man, my makeup collection is literally drugstore products haha. I would love to splurge on high end make up soon! I’ve heard nothing but amazing things on the hoola bronzer and any tarte product. Thanks for sharing love x

  2. You’ve got some lovely high end bits here! My first ‘high-end’ foundation was the mac studio fix and i think at the time for me it was too high coverage for what i needed cause i was like 15 but now i know id love it, think it might be time to repurchase! I’ve not tried the soft glam ABH palette but I have the Norvina one so i assume it’s the same quality and i love it SO much, it was a gift so not sure id splurge on it myself but its my go to, think ive hit pan on most shades! I have a tarte face and eye palette and i love the quality of the eyeshadows, i do wanna try more from them!

  3. I am not going to lie I am not the best at make up, I mean I try to be girly but I have no clue when it comes to make up haha! However, I do absolutely love the hoola benefit bronzer and I am a huge fan of Charlotte tilbury lipsticks and I actually prefer my one to my Mac one! X

  4. I love cheap makeup products but I love to spoil myself sometimes and get some high end makeup. I haven’t made use of any of these but I’ll definitely be checking them out plus I have heard a lot about NARS and I feel it’s time I get one of their products.

  5. Totally agree with the NARS blushes – I love them! I really want to try the Dior foundation!

  6. I’ve never had a high end make up product but I’ve been dying to try the it cosmetics cc cream. I’ve used the benefit for the primer and it was top tier and I have always wanted to buy the hoola brozer but I just thought it wasn’t worth that money. I think that I want to try it now that you’ve mentioned it ahah. Think I’ll buy the mini size just to see how I like it. Thank you for sharing! I absolutely love your blog!

  7. I am never a fan in makeup, But if I am to use any, the products shall be worthy and this list seems great! Especially MAC lipstick and IT CC cream ( i’ve heard of this before)!

  8. I agree about the MAC foundation and the CC Cream, my skin is on the dry side but both have a lovely finish on my skin! I have a mini of the Orgasm blush plus a full size of a dupe and it is my favourite blush colour, it really does add a lovely healthy glow. I redeemed a Tarte gift with a recent Sephora order and mini sizes of that mascara and bronzer were included, excited to give them a go x

    1. Also forgot to add MAC lipsticks are my favourite, the shade range and the different finishes combined with the pigmentation is amazing 😍

  9. I’ve really never invested in high-end make up but I think that needs to change because with make up you really do get what you pay for sometimes! Some great suggestions here, I’ve heard great things about all of these brands!

  10. I love the tarte blush formulas as well, so pretty. I think some of my higher end favourites are the Laura Mercier foundations (all of them), I’ve never tried one that doesn’t look incredible on my skin. And Benefit brow products too! x

  11. I personally really like the Benefit Hoola Bronzer and the Tarte lights camera action mascara. I have bought those over and over again. I love thoughts products. I have heard many people love the Ofra makeup brand. I am hoping to try them out soon. Awesome makeup products recommends.

  12. I think my conception of splurge on makeup ends on lipsticks, but really want to try some nice palettes! i only tried benefit products, but heard great things of Mac and Tarte, so might give them a try next x

  13. I completely agree with the Benefit bronzer. It just gives you such a natural look. Ive never regretted buying the naked palette. I use it most days and the shade looks just as good in the evening as it did when I applied it.

  14. I haven’t tried any of these products as I never buy anything high-end. I would love a Mac lipstick, there’s just something about them that’s so fancy.

  15. I love this! While I don’t often invest in a high end makeup brand, when there is a special occasion, I often use it as an excuse to treat myself! I have a few different MAC products from this approach and I haven’t regretted picking any of them up (although I couldn’t justify the price for day to day wear).

  16. I love this post! You always see the budget friendly make up hauls, but I never know what to treat myself to! As someone who doesn’t really wear make-up, I never know what to go for and don’t want to waste my money. Thank you for sharing your top picks!

    Love, Em Blog x

  17. I do like a highend product but I’ve not tried any of these ones before. I’m always on the look for a new foundation to try!!

  18. I love Tarte’s mascara & blushes & the Benefit Hoola Bronzer is great too!
I’ve been wanting to try Mac’s lipsticks, but I never got around to visiting their store.

  19. Yes to MAC bullet lipsticks and ABH Soft Glam palette!! I just got that palette last month and I’m obsessed! How can I not bought it earlier? It’s so good I don’t even need other palettes xx

  20. Ok, I have to cave in and try the Hoola bronzer, so I can understand why so many people love it. It’s one of the few cult favourites I never got! Also, you reminded me that I have to hurry up and use my Anastasia palettes – I’m bringing them back to the front of the drawer.

  21. Obsessed with most of these. The Vieve essentials palette is an absolute must have! Love your blog, I have followed you and can’t wait to read more of your posts! Xx
