I have had a number of permanent and semi-permanent hair dyes over the years, some with more success than others. And sometimes you just want to get the stuff out of your hair, and that’s why brands launch products such as these; Bleach London Washing Out Liquid. It can be purchased from Boots (in the UK) for £6 for 200ml

First things first, this will not fade permanent (or even semi-permanent) hair dyes. It’s more designed to fade those not quite semi-permanent kind of hair dyes (like the new L’Oreal ones). But, if you’ve put purple hair dye in the bottom of your hair and it’s a little too vivid or it’s been hanging around too long and you want rid, this will do the job. It also works as a kind of pasteliser, if you apply one of the L’Oreal Coloristas and you want it to be a bit more pastel than vivid.

The thing to keep in mind is this shampoo is drying! It strips the colour from your hair, and in doing so strips a lot of other useful things from your hair. So I couldn’t recommend enough using a thick, heavy duty, hair mask after.

Overall, it kind of works for some reasons, but not for as much as you’d want it to, and it’s very drying… So, depends what you need it for.

Have you tried this? If so, what are your thoughts?

  1. A couple of years ago, I had purple hair and wanted to wash it out to dye my hair blue. I looked into this product be choice to use another product. I had no idea that it would dry out your hair. That’s very interesting. Glad to know that it works though. Thank you for your review.

    1. I mean, I guess it strips stuff out your hair! It didn’t do any long lasting damage, just used a good hair mask after and everything was back to normal! But I thought it was worth pointing out xx
