Every brand, and their mother, at the moment seems to be coming out with matte liquid lipsticks. And if they’re not doing that, they’re realising lip kits. So, what does Barry M do, it releases both! The lip kit is a tradition box containing a lip liner and a liquid lipstick, however, you can buy the liquid lipsticks individually – which is what I have done with all but one, because I never remember to use lipliner (I know, shoot me… actually please don’t)
I have three colours here; Embellish (a blackcurrant purple), On the Scene (a coral-toned nude), and Pose (a light pink), I also have the lipliner for Pose, as this was the lipkit that I bought. The liquid lipsticks are £4.99 and the lip kits are £6.99 – and so a world cheaper than the classic Kylie Jenner lipkits.
The lip liners comes in super sleek black packaging, with the colour of the liner on the tip. They are obviously inspired by the MAC lipliners. They’re not the creamiest lipliners out there, however, they’re still easy to apply, and they do a really good job of prolonging the wear of the lipsticks. Having swatched the range in store, the lip liners are all just a bit darker than the liquid lipsticks that go with them, which I think is really stupid considering they’re made to go together.
The liquid lipsticks are much that – very liquidy. Without the lip liners, they are impossible to apply. However, once you’ve mastered that, they dry insanely fast and very matte. They’re kiss proof in seconds, which is very impressive, and their staying power is a good couple of hours. They are quite drying, however, if you use a good lipbalm before applying, it’s not that bad.
I actually really do rate these, however I would recommend getting the full kit – it’s only £2 more and it’ll make the whole application process so much easier, and really does prolong the wear of the lipstick.
Have you tried these, if so what were your thoughts?

There are so many mixed reviews on these! So hard to tell whether they’ll work for me or not. Really enjoyed this review though x

Thanks. I know, they’re really dividing people
I hope this isn’t offensive babe and hope you take this as constructive criticism, but under the picture of the swatches I’d love for you to have labelled which one is which (like write underneath, L-R, for e.g.). I’d find that very helpful
