22 (Beauty) Favourites for 2022

22 (Beauty) Favourites for 2022

Hi. Welcome back.

Yes. You read that right.

The blog is back… and a summary of favourites from 2022 was a good way to come back and update you with everything I’ve been trying and been doing this past 12 months; though if you follow me on Instagram, you’ll be all up to date anyway!

So, this is 22 favourites for 2022….

Vieve Modern Powder Perfector in Light

Honestly, this is one of the best pressed powders, that also adds an element of coverage, that I’ve tried in a while! It has such a soft texture, it makes your skin look super smooth… and it’s not drying! I’ve already repurchased preparing for this one to be finished in a matter of weeks!

Vieve Sunset Blush in Pesca

The thing I love about the Vieve blushes – other than their super pretty packing – is how buildable they are. They pack an element of a punch when you first apply them, but it’s very wearable and very easy to blend out. But then you can just keep building, so if you want to go for the SUPER blushy look, you can! But if you want to go for the ‘I have a bit of colour’ look, you also can! And this colour is so pretty… and will likely last me forever!

Vieve Nova Glow Highlighter in Bijou

This is the first highlighter I’ve hit pan on. Yes, you read that right. And I think that says it all. It’s almost the perfect colour for me, with a slightly champagne/golden undertone. But, what I love about it, is it merges the more modern lit from within highlight with the 2014 blinding, in your face, slightly too much highlight… and as someone who’s lived through both phases, I’m a bit obsessed!

Vieve The Essential Palette

For those of you who have been following the blog for a while may recognise this from my Project 10 Pan in 2021… and yes, this palette has stayed in constant rotation ever since… and no I still haven’t hit pan on it! These eyeshadow pans are huuuuge! They’re also such pigmented eyeshadows, that you need the smallest amount, so this will honestly last me a lifetime.

I feel like if I was to pick one favourite from 2022 it would be Vieve as a whole… there have been other things from this brand I’ve tried over the past 12 months that I’ve LOVED also… but I thought I’d stop at the top 4, otherwise it may as well have been a Vieve favourites post!

Elf Powder Grip Primer

The Milk Hydro Grip primer was a favourite of mine for the earlier part of the year, but then Elf decided to drop this little product… and honestly? The same product. For half the price. So… it only felt right for this to be the product that’s featured in the 2022 favourites post! It leaves a sticky base that foundation clings to, and therefore makeup is not going ANYWHERE!

IT CC Cream

This has been a favourite for many many years. Honestly think this is my favourite, everyday, easy to use base ever. It has great coverage, while being easy to wear, and super long lasting. Obsessed. Have bought like 5-6 of these tubes over my life, will continue to buy forever more

Charlotte Tilbury Beautiful Skin Foundation

Not as long a lasting love affair as the IT CC Cream, but one that burns just as brightly. This foundation is stunning… it’s one of the only foundations I’ve worn where people have actively asked me what foundation I’m wearing when I see them. It has a medium coverage, a glowy (but not shiny/glittery) finish, a medium thickness texture, and a decent wear time (I would say it comfortably wears for 8 hours, after that, it looks pretty, but it’s fading). This may be the foundation I wear on a specific day…. see more later on.

Honest Creme Cheek Blush in Peony Pink

So, I used to love cream blushes, but always felt like they never looked as good over powder as under… until this one. Sometimes I think this looks better over powder than under. It doesn’t sound like an important thing, but it’s often how my makeup routine goes. This is the one of those beautiful everyday blush shades that goes with every makeup look and I’m low key obsessed with!

A new brand discovery for 2022 is We Makeup. An Italian brand, which does ship to the UK, their whole ethos is high quality products at affordable prices. They don’t drop a new makeup line every five minutes, so the products they have on their website they believe in and have been well researched, tested and work together.

We Makeup While Eyeliner

So…. if you’ve been keeping up with me on Instagram/YouTube, you will know this has found a special place in my heart. I’m a little obsessed. This is an unassuming black liquid eyeliner. However, it’s super fine nib makes it super easy to use… it also doesn’t dry up quickly, and I find I can do both eyes without needing to shake/redip. And then it lasts really well once on the eyes too! I (un)patiently wait for it to come out in other colours…

We Makeup Ever Liquid Lipstick in 16

Their liquid lipsticks are really lovely. I wouldn’t say they’re my favourite formula, but it’s this colour in particular that’s found its way into my heart. Their lipsticks are super pigmented, dry matte and aren’t overly drying… but this colour is the PERFECT your lips but amped up and deeper shade!

We Makeup Well Lip Plumper

Now this I am obsessed with. I don’t particularly use it for the lip plumping benefits… what I LOVE this for it applying as a sort of lip gloss. Why? There’s something about it where it alludes your lips to be plumper by the way it reflects light. It does have a slight tingling sensation, but it’s subtle and wears off after around 15-20 mins. But, I think think it amps up any lipstick!

Fenty Beauty Lipgloss in Diamond Milk

One of those hit products from… 2020? I believe… maybe later/earlier. And I feel a little late to the bandwagon, but I’m glad I made it. It’s STUNNING… and because it doesn’t have a colour of its own, it works with every lipstick you own. It also feels more like a lip balm on your lips rather than the typical super sticky lip glosses.

L’Oreal Rouge Signature Matte Liquid Lipstick in I Am Worth It

I feel like I’ve been harping on about these lipsticks for as long as I’ve been alive… an exaggeration of course… but still. In particular the red shade (as my most worn, and therefore in this roundup) or the bright pink (not as worn, but truly stunning). They’re super pigmented, but the formula is so light that you barely feel it on your lips. They’re matte, but not drying (because they’re so thin). They also last SO long. And what I do love about them, is when they wear off, they just fade away, and don’t leave any crusty residue behind. LOVE LOVE LOVE.

NARS Afterglow Lipbalm in Dolce Vita

I got this in an advent calendar in 2021 and I’ve been a little obsessed ever since. In fact, I’m slightly stressed how I’ve nearly finished it. This is the most beautiful tinted lip balm I’ve ever tried. Yes, a claim. It has everything you would want from a lip balm; hydrating, comfortable, easy to throw on. But with the things you love from a lipstick; great colour payoff, long lasting (albeit, this is one of those products you will have you apply after 3 hours or so).

Youth To The People Kale + Green Tea Spinach Vitamins Superfood Cleanser

This is one of those products that’s a little pricier, but worth every single penny. This is my second bottle, hence why it looks like it’s not been touched. It has the most glorious texture, foams up beautifully, and leaves your skin looking and feeling super clean and fresh without feeling tight/dried out. Wouldn’t say it’s the best makeup remover, but as a second cleanser/morning cleanser, I don’t think I’ve tried something I’ve loved as much. Also, the glass bottle is just stunning!

Cetaphil Body Cream

1. This lasts FORVER as the tub is huge and you don’t need a lot of it. 2. This is one of the best fuss-free body creams I have ever tried. It’s got no scent, meaning it layers perfectly with your fragrance, and it just does what it says on the tin. You know those products who have no bells and whistles, but just do the one thing they claim to do. And for this, it’s moisturised skin…!

Bondi Sands Bondi Babe Purifying Clay Mask

I went into trying this brand with low expectations, but I was honestly blown away. The moisturiser is also pretty good… but for me it’s this; the purifying clay mask. Another one of those fuss-free products that just does what it says it’s going to do. It dries down lovely, doing that tightening thing you kinda love from a clay mask, and then you wash it off and your skin feels SO clean.

Rebel Peach Me Fragrance

On it’s own, I’m never quite sure, but layered in with some of my other fragrances; it’s STUNNING. It smells like Peaches. Yes, you read that right, like you’ve actually just cut up a peach. It’s one of those super unique fragrances that you can recognise anywhere, and for me it takes another fragrance that is nice, but nothing special, to something so unique and interesting!

Colour Wow Dream Coat Supernatural Spray

If you want shiny hair, this is your one. Your spray it on your hair, give it a blowdry and your hair looks STUNNING! Honestly, it’s worth the hype.

Gillian Flynn – Gone Girl

Felt like I should include at least one none beauty focused favourite in here… so I’ve gone for a book. And, while I’ve read a load of books over the year, the one that I actually really couldn’t get enough of and was generally sad to have finished was ‘Gone Girl’. It’s a bit of a holiday read, but bare with me; you honestly have no idea where it’s going to go next. It starts with a seemingly happy couple, where the wife goes missing. And you follow the story of the husband trying to work out where she is.. and then it just goes wild. There’s also a film, but I honestly think the book is SO much better!

I GOT ENGAGED!!!

Yes… I’m getting married. WAAA?!

Honestly, my best friend, the love of my life and the guy who generally keeps me on my path (usually because I’m having a breakdown about something completely not important and he either snaps me out of it, or helps me get it out my system) and I are getting married!

Making my 21 and 22 favourites Alex and the Engagement; haha!

I hope you enjoyed!
