October Empties 2020 | Skincare, Makeup & Haircare

I honestly don’t know how many of these I’ve written, but it has been a lot. I’d say for the last 5 years I’ve been collecting empty skincare, haircare and makeup products in a basket/drawer in my flat… like some kind of weirdo. However, here I am with another month of empties. And the last one from this flat… mental!

Speaking of flat… I have two more ‘makeup’ style posts, then the farewell post… and then I’m going to have a bit of a rethink and rejig and you’ll see a whole new KatieEmmaBeauty. But, first, empties!

L’Oreal Elvive Extraordinary Oil Jojoba Multi-Use Balm | So as a hair conditioner (where you apply it after shampoo, leave for 5 mins or so, and then wash off), I hated this. BUT, for an overnight hair treatment this is gorgeous! I love applying it through the ends of my hair, leaving it till the morning and then washing out. Using it for that reason makes your hair super duper soft!

Provoke Touch of Silver Brightening Shampoo | This is such a great between hair dresser appointment toner. And while I’m sure there are better ones out there, when I leave this on my hair for 15 mins and then wash off, you can definitely tell I’ve toned!

Batiste Dry Shampoo in Cherry | I honestly don’t think you can get better than this £3 bottle of dry shampoo. It does does the job. Enough said right?

The Body Shop Vitamin E Hydrating Face Mist | Still not convinced whether this is a little gimiky or not, but I did enjoy using it, and it seems to be on offer ALL the time, so would probably repurchase just because it’s kinda satisfying

Declor Aroma Cleanse | I’m still on the search for a GREAT face wash, and we know I tried one from Origins I really enjoyed, but this could be another one… maybe I need to try more high end face washes!

Elemis Papaya Enzyme Peel | Still not convinced by this one to be honest. I’m sure I’ll get another one at some point in an advent calendar or beauty box, but still not convinced it’s all the rage!

Emma Hardy Brilliance Facial Oil | I’m actually not a fan of this.. mainly because I had a bad skin reaction and came out in a rash. But also because I prefer my Monday’s Child oil!

Vaseline Aloe Vera | I mean this is just a staple, does it need a review? I mean if it does it’s a great lip balm…!

Champneys Summer Dream Rewarding Salt Scrub | I go through stages of liking body scrubs and just using them because I have them… but this is such a similar texture to the Soap and Glory body scrubs! And both of which are gorgeous body scrubs that are the perfect mix of it exfoliates well without being too rough! Although I do prefer the scents of the S&G ones…. but if you’re not so much a fan of the sweet, sickly scents, you might prefer this one!

NIP + FAB Glycolic Daily Cleansing Pads | I’ve been using these for years, and while I may swap them out every so often, they are a recurring favourite. They’re a really gentle, but effective chemical exfoliant and I’ll be using them for years to come!

The Body Shop Cactus Blossom Body Yogurt | While I’m such a fan of the Body Shop I honestly believe the Body Butters are better. These leave a weird greasy residue on your skin. BUT they are a beautiful light body moisturisers ideal for the summer months. This scent is really interesting though! Not one you see often, but a great one nonetheless!

Essie Expressie in Second Hand, First Love | One of the only nail polishes I’ve ever finished, this is such a great everyday nail colour! Not convinced this dries any faster than any other of the Essie collections and certainly doesn’t last a long time… BUT it’s a pretty colour nonetheless!

Revlon Colorstay Brow Mousse | While it could arguably be labelled as a gimick, I actually really enjoyed this product. Could we difficult to work with, but created a really interesting fluffy brow look and set it down all at the same time!

Revolution Brow Pencil | I feel like this was a little too dark and heavy and so gave me slight blocky brows, but if I was ever caught out, I wouldn’t not get it!

Sand + Fog Relax Goji Berry Candle | I’m such a fan of candles and I’ve never heard of this brand before, but I LOVED it! In the UK you can pick them up from TKMaxx and their scents are all so unique but gorgeous! The packaging is really beautiful! And they burn really well (although as you can see they don’t necessarily burn evenly). Would buy again

Sure Deodorant Bright Bouquet | I mean it’s boring, but it does the job right? I’m 100% more of a person who uses the compressed cans usually… but bought this from TESCO online, and clearly picked up the wrong one.

Merci Handy Black Vanilla Hand Cleansing Gel | I could not tell you where I got this from, but it was definitely handy in this lockdown! Not sure I’d repurchase (as I’m not sure where I’d get it from), but…

Superdrug Antibacterial Hand Gel | This is a weirdly watery hand gel, but it did the job!

Soap & Glory Hand Food | Smells delicious! And it’s totally between this and the Body Shop hand creams as my all time favourite!

And there you have it, another month over! And today I purchased all the furniture for my new flat… so it totally feels real now! And Im beyond excited to see what the new move means for my blog! See you soon!
