Trying Tarte Cosmetics For The First Time…

Tarte Cosmetics Tartlette Toasted Palette

Yes, you read that right! I’ve somehow made it to 25 without trying anything from Tarte. I remember about 2-5 years ago they were launching makeup products like they were going out of date… but it feels like in recent they’ve slowed down. And I picked up a few of the items I’d had my eye on in their 50% Birthday Sale!

It felt like too good an opportunity to miss to try out their stunning eyeshadows, iconic blushes or beautiful bronzers… and I got a free mascara and free blush thrown in the mix as well!

Parkave Princess Amazonia Clay Matte Waterproof Bronzer

I feel like a few years ago you couldn’t go anywhere without seeing this bronzer! And I was over here on my own… having never tried it! However, I finally got my hand on it and it doesn’t disappoint! It’s one of those stunning shades which is somewhere between a bronzer and a contour; which by the way is my preference… as I totally cba to do both steps! It’s really easy to blend… and while it’s pigmented, it’s buildable and easy to work with! I find the packaging a little chunky, but all in all… love it!

Amazonia Clay 12-Hour Blush in Peaceful

Can you try Tarte and not try one of their blushes? I’m convinced it’s probably a crime somewhere (just for clarity… I know it’s not!). I really like how simple and frill free the packaging is! It makes it so easy to travel with and it fits into a makeup collection seamlessly. But I love these blushes! They pack a little more pigment than I’m used to, so I had to adjust how I apply my blush. But once I got that down, this is a stunning blush! The colour is a perfect everyday pink shade and it has just the right amount of shimmer to it to give you a healthy glow to the skin without looking remotely shimmery!

Ok this palette is just gorgeous! It’s been on my wishlist for ages and this is what brought me to make the order in the first place… because at 50% off I couldn’t not! You have a stunning selection of warm neutrals… and if it has a gold (which I feel like the palette is missing) I would say this has everything in it you could possibly want! I find the shimmers can take a little more work than other high end palettes on the market… but the mattes are really pretty and easy to work with! And the overall eye looks you can create are gorgeous!

Lights, Camera, Lashes Mascara

So this was a free gift with purchase, and easily one of the most surprising free gifts I’ve ever had. For some reason, and I’m not sure why, I didn’t think it would be very good… BUT I love it! If you want a proper fluttery, long and separated lash (with NO clumps) this is your one! It’s not going to give you insane volume… I guess unless you layer it up for hours! But, if you want that natural, fluttery makeup no makeup eyelashes, you NEED to try this. I’m totally purchasing a full size when I’ve finished with this!

Amazonia Clay 12-Hour Blush in Quirky

This was the second free gift with purchase… and I think if I’d known the colour of it I might have gotten the other blush in a slightly brighter shade! But oh well… it’s still stunning! This is a little less pink and a little more nude than Peaceful! I also kinda like having a mini one, because now it’s proper travel friendly!

And there you have it! My first haul (pretty much) of 2020 and I couldn’t be happier with the products I picked up! Also… I got to try Tarte for the first time, and I’m impressed! I really want to try their foundations and concealers now!

What have you tried from Tarte? Do you like them?
