My Makeup Collection If I Could Only Keep One Thing

My Makeup Collection If I Could Only Keep One Thing

So I’ve been seeing this trend make it’s way around the bloggersphere, and wanted to throw my hat into the ring. Today I’m doing a variation on the ‘my makeup collection if I wasn’t an influencer’ but the ‘I’m not really an influencer in the first place’ version. So basically, my collection if I could only keep one thing. I’m talking those favourites; the ones I return back to over and over again. The ones I know I can use really easily with absolutely no fuss. And the ones I’d use for that ‘boring’ everyday makeup look.

My Makeup Collection If I Could Only Keep One Thing

L’Oreal Infaillible Magic Essence Drops Primer

Now I’m not entirely convinced I’d be using primer if it wasn’t for YouTube and my blog. But all the same, there’s only been a handful that I’ve really really loved! And while the Smashbox Photofinish Foundation Primer would definitely be up there, it’s a little on the pricey side. And so the one I do just find myself gravitating back to is this one by L’Oreal. It’s hydrating, sits beautifully on the skin, and doesn’t react badly with any foundation.

MAC Studio Fix Fluid

I feel like Mac is one of those high end brands that really didn’t even need YouTube. Even back in 2005 when all YouTube was was ‘Charlie Bit My Finger’ and music covers, Mac was all the rage. And this foundation is no exception. It’s beautiful. Blends like a dream, covers well, wears even better! Plus I like how it can do both medium coverage and full coverage.

L’Oreal Infaillible More Than Concealer

If you’d asked me about 3 years ago I’d have 100% said the Collection Lasting Perfection concealer. And while that’s still a firm favourite, I think this one just takes the biscuit. Not only does it also have amazing coverage, but it sits better on my skin. The Collection concealer can begin to look a little cakey if you’ve gone a little heavy, this never does that! Gorgeous!

Rimmel Stay Matte Powder

I’d love to say I’d be some boujie person buying some expensive loose powder. But realistically, this Rimmel powder is one of the best. And also one of the cheapest. Literally the only thing that lets it down is the packaging. It’s a classic. Enough said

Max Factor Creme Bronzer in Light Gold

Just going to get this out the way. This is not a cream bronzer, it’s a powder. But it’s one of the only two bronzers in my life I’ve ever finished. It’s a stunning everyday, subtle, but beautiful bronzer! I will love this to the end of my days!

NARS Orgasm Blush

I took my sweet time getting onto the blush bandwagon. But now I’m here, I am never ever looking back! And this one from NARS is a classic for a reason. It’s a beautiful colour, the gold flecks make you look healthy and glowy without looking shimmery. Plus, the packaging is just iconic.

Sleek Solstice Palette

While we’re talking old school, you don’t get more old school than this. Realistically there’s only one shade in this palette I use (I’ll give you one guess), but it’s gorgeous all the same! This is one of the old school blinding highlighters, and I feel like it’s aged well!

Max Factor Brow Shaper Pencil

Now I don’t actually have one of these at the moment, while I try out some others, but it’s certainly one of my favourites! Once in a blue mood I’d have said the Maybelline Brow Satin, but I’ve since loved a thinner pencil that really gives those real brow hair effect. And this is that. Plus it’s super duper affordable!

Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara

This was actually a really hard category. Because I love the Benefit Rollerlash mascara. And a small part of me misses it everyday. But for half the price you can get the Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara. And to be fair, it holds up. It’s a really good lengthening with a bit of volume chucked in there mascara. It doesn’t transfer (one me). But it’s still pretty easy to remove (unlike the Benefit mascaras). Just a classic really.

My Makeup Collection If I Could Only Keep One Thing

Anastasia Beverly Hills Palette in Soft Glam

Oh ABH. If I had incomprehensible levels of wealth (and space), then I’d own every palette they ever came out with. I love their eyeshadows. They’re buttery and blendable, pigmented and long wearing. And their Soft Glam palette is just the perfect everyday neutral palette, but can still do those more smokey evening looks. Like if I lost all my makeup tomorrow, this would be the first thing I replaced. Without a doubt.

Mac Lipsticks

More specifically in Velvet Teddy. But seriously, who has one lipstick? A girl needs a red, a nude, a pink, and about 300 variations of them. But there is just something about Mac lipsticks. I really can’t put my finger on it, but they can just never be beaten.

What would be in you makeup collection if you could only keep on thing?

  1. Ooh some good choices here! Totally agree about NARS Orgasm blush, an absolute classic. I think the Collection concealer would be my pick, I do like the L’Oreal but it’s not as nice on my skin as the Collection concealer. My favourite mascara of all time is one by Rimmel (Scandaleyes Lycra Flex in Extreme Black, the regular black shade isn’t the same) and if could only use one brand of lipstick it would definitely be MAC xx
