Who knew, that at the age of 24 I’d be collecting empty packets of all the skincare, makeup and haircare in my flat for a whole year. Also, who knew how much plastic one person gets through in a whole year… it’s actually disgusting. But, thats a topic for another time. As it’s been a whole 6-7 months since I last did one, I’m kinda looking forward to talking you through my trash (urgh, and American word… just rubbish doesn’t sound right).
The only thing is, some of these products I finished a year ago, so can’t quite remember what I thought about them. So, I’m going to share the products I actually have something to say about, otherwise it’s going to get fairly boring me going ‘erm, don’t remember was probably fine’.
First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream | I actually thoroughly enjoyed this! It’s thick and moisturising without feeling heavy or sticky. And if I didn’t have a massive backlog of moisturisers, then I’d 100% rebuy this.
Nip + Fab Glycolic Fix Daily Cleansing Pads | I used to use these everyday, and I’m sure at some point I’ll get back to it, but at the beginning of the year, I cut back on my skincare and this is one of those products that didn’t make the cull. However, I kinda have missed it, so think it’ll be back for 2020!
Zoella Sweet Inspirations | A wonderfully sweet and light fragrance. The scent doesn’t stick around for a particularly long time, but as it’s only like £10 you don’t feel bad consistently respraying.
L’Oreal Infaillible Magic Essence Drops | Ngl, I completely forgot this product existed. But omg I loved it so much, and now I’m totally going back to Superdrug to buy more… one of the most hydrating primers ever.
Herbel Essences x5 | Totally my hair brand of choice. I’ve been using them since I was 16 and every time I deviate away from it, I instantly regret it!
Moroccan Oil | One of those products that I don’t think I’d ever pay for, but when we get samples of it, I actually love it! Leaves your hair feeling beyond soft!
Garnier Micellar Water & Gel Wash | One of those ranges of products I buy over and over again, because they just work and they’re really affordable!
Benefit Bad Girl Bang Mascara | I love the Benefit mascara ranges. They all have their own benefits, but they’re super black and lengthening/curling/thickening. However, if I was going to repurchase one it’s the Rollerlash Mascara
Sure Deodorant (in every scent) x5 | I mean boring, but there’s the brand I use.
Body Shop Strawberry Body Butter | OMG the Body Shop has my heart in so many ways. I chilled out a bit with it this year, but still… URGH!
Body Shop Tea Tree Mattifying Toner | Love it. Great way to use tea tree in a gentle way
Body Shop Shower Gel (Peppermint Candy Cane) | These are just my favourite body washes ever!
VO5 Heat Protection Spray | This stuff just works, so I’ve re-bought it, again.
Simple Cleansing Facial Wipes x3 | Sometimes a girls gotta just use face wipes (I’m lazy ok), and these ones really are the best. Also, the Superdrug own brand ones are pretty good. But the Boots Cucumber Cleansing Wipes are dry af.
Superdrug Vitamin E Eye Cream x2 | I fell in love with this eye cream many moons ago, and I’ve never looked back
Oskia Renaissance Mask | This stuff is soooo painfully expensive, and I don’t think I can really justify the cost of it, but it really is lovely!
Molton Brown Shower Gel | Love this stuff so much. You really can tell why Molton Brown costs as much as it does.
Batiste Dry Shampoo x3 | I’ve never found a dry shampoo that works this well, and so I stopped trying. Batiste just works. End of.
OGX Argan Oil of Morocco Shampoo and Conditioner | I’m ngl, I actually hated this. I don’t think I’d ever purchase OGX stuff again. I don’t know if I’m just bias because of Herbel Essences, or whether they just don’t work with my hair, but these just don’t leave my hair feeling soft and looking shiny.
Simple Kind to Skin Smoothing Facial Scrub x3 | I’m actually kinda surprised I’ve gone through three of these. I’ve never really found an affordable facial scrub I’ve enjoyed, but this one fills the gap while I’m looking.
Garnier Skin Active Rose Soothing Toner | A lovely product, enjoyed using it, but don’t think my skin is missing it though…
Body Shop Strawberry Body Mist | More Body Shop for you. This body mist smells AMAZING! Would totally buy again (in fact, already have, but as a gift for my best friend).
Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet in Nudeist | This used to be the lipstick I wore everyday for work. And, while I really enjoyed the formula at the time, I think there are better lipstick formulas out there now.
Umberto Gianni Grunge Glamour Tousled Salt Spray | OMG I love a salt spray. It really helps the texture of your hair when it’s just been washed and isn’t holding styles. Not sure I’m particularly loyal to one salt spray or another though…
B Clean Sparking Water Cleanser | I hated this so much. I know it’s a water cleanser, but it just felt like I was splashing water on my face. My face didn’t feel cleaner after… just wet.
Radox Feel Uplifted Shower Gel | While I love the Body Shop shower gels and they’re definitely my option of choice. I appreciate how these are usually £1 in Superdrug. Don’t judge ok…
Benefit Precisely My Brow | I loved this brow product so much. I really want to go buy it again… in fact I don’t know why I haven’t. The colour matches me perfectly, it’s a really easy brow product to use, and the spoolie is even great.
St Ives Fresh Skin Apricot Scrub x2 | Ngl, until I looked this up just now, I thought this included one of the ingredients which was unsafe for the environment. But now I’ve been reading into it and it sounds ok, I’m totally using this again! Whoop whoop.
Shay & Blue Blood Orange Fragrance | So this smelled so strongly of blood oranges it was insane! And, while it was a bit intense for a fragrance, it’s definitely made me intrigued by the brand.
And there you go. A year of empties. Mental right
And now I can actually dispose of the mound of products that have been living in my very small flat the last 12 months!

The strawberry range from The Body Shop is lush, the fragrance mist is lovely. Often fruity scents can be cheap and nasty but this one is really nice 🙂
