Review | Summer Fridays Overtime Mask | Is It Worth The Hype?

You know when you see those brands absolutely everywhere and you’re just dying to try it? Yeah, that’s how I felt about Summer Fridays. And I got their Overtime Mask in one of my advent calendars and I’ve recently become obsessed!

Here’s what they claim on their website;

The busiest overachievers in the game? Your skin’s cells. They work overtime shedding and renewing themselves. But sometimes—like your desktop—your complexion can get a little cluttered. Perfect for dull or congested skin, this clarifying mask uses vitamin-packed pumpkin and exfoliating apricot seed powder to gently polish away dead skin cells for a luminous effect.

Price & Packaging

It’s no secret that Summer Fridays is expensive. At £39 for 64g it’s one of the pricier masks in my collection! However, one thing I’m learning over the years is that skincare can just be expensive. and then the packaging is this gorgeous metal packaging that I find weirdly and deeply satisfying.

And then application is pretty simple; apply a thick layer, rub it in circular motions for 60 seconds, leave for 10 mins and then wash it off.

Ingredients

There are a few key ingredients in this mask that have their own benefits;

PUMPKIN
Packed with restorative minerals—plus vitamins A, K and C—pumpkin exfoliates and hydrates skin for a brighter, more balanced complexion. It’s also what gives the mask its scent

APRICOT SEED POWDER
Natural and gentle—unlike synthetic abrasives that can damage skin’s surface—this mild exfoliant sweeps away dead skin cells for Carrara marble-smooth results. And this is what’s in the face mask giving it a slightly scrubby effect

OAT KERNEL PROTEIN
With both anti-irritant and anti-inflammatory properties, this moisturising protein leaves skin feeling velvety-soft and soothed.

VITAMIN E
Alongside Vitamin C, which is one of my favourite skincare ingredients… it acts like your skin’s own bodyguard by fending off collagen-damaging free radicals—a major culprit in the aging process.

Overall Impressions

While it’s a natural scent, it doest have a scent. And while it doesn’t bother me, I thought I’d just get that out the way incase it’s potentially a problem for you! But overall, I’ve really been enjoying this mask, it leaves your skin looking glowy as well as clean. It’s like an all in one tbf! While it doesn’t dry your skin out, if you do have dry skin, you might want to incorporate a hydrating mask into your routine too as it won’t completely tick that box on its own. However, if you skin is looking a little dull and in need of a pickmeup, this is amazing! And it’s the apricot seed powder that really helps to clean out your pores and leave your face feeling super clean

Overall loving it. Do I think it’s worth the price tag? Maybe. You do get a lot of uses in there, and the ingredient list is really premium!

  1. I have always wanted to try a product from Summer Fridays, their products always look amazing and have really good reviews. This mask sounds lovely, adding it to my wish list x

  2. I’m always sceptical of trying new skin care because my skin can be quite sensitive, so I love that you added in the bit about using a hydrating mask as well! I’d be tempted to try it if it was maybe slightly cheaper haha!

  3. Honestly when my sister bought it i thought I was sceptical about the price, but boy! I love them, i think they are worth the cost. I mostly use the jet lag one and it lives your skin moisturized and soft as a baby. Thanks for sharing x

  4. Really enjoyed this review, I hadn’t heard of Summer Fridays before now and now I am IN LOVE! I’ve purchased this product and can’t wait to try it. Thanks for sharing your review!

  5. I own this one (and it’s almost empty) and I absolutely love it. I personally also like to combine this with the Summer Fridays Jet Lag Mask! I multimask or I appy the Jet Lag Mask after I’ve used the Overtime Mask. Really recommend trying the combination for a hydrated, glowy skin! 🙂

  6. Thank you for a great breakdown. I have seen quite a few people talking about this brand recently, but wasn’t sure if it was worth purchasing or not. It is a little higher cost, but I don’t mind spending a little more if I know that I’m getting my money’s worth out of it.

  7. I haven’t heard of Summer Fridays before but it’s great that they work really well! Love the different ingredients packed in the tube. From time to time, fragrance-free creams are great. Still better than the ones that doesn’t have the best smell haha. Thanks for sharing your experience!

  10. I love face masks! This one sounds super interesting but yikes at the price tag! Haha. I’m definitely one of those gals who suffers from dry skin (especially in winter) so I’d need the extra hydration, but I’d be willing to try this mask out at some point maybe. Thanks for the review. 🙂

  11. I always like reading reviews on face masks in particular. I pretty much stick to the same… 2?? over and over again – but I’d like to branch out. It was fun to see what you thought of this one. I’m allergic to oats so I couldn’t try it for myself, but I’m glad you like it!

  12. I’ve always wanted to try Summer Fridays but haven’t managed to get around to it yet. This mask sounds great, I’m really sensitive to vitamin C so I’m not sure if my skin would get along with it but it sounds like a lovely product x

  13. This is something I’ve seen a lot of online. The ingredients sound amazing. Glad you’ve been noticing a difference with it 😊
