Review | Fenty Mattemoiselle Plush Matte Lipstick

So years after launching I still hadn’t tried anything by Fenty! I know… do I live under a rock or something? Potentially! But then Boots were doing 30% off parts of the brand and so I just HAD to pick something up and I went for on of their Mattemoiselle Plush Matte Lipstick in the shade Single.

At £16 a pop they’re about on par with Mac lipsticks and they come in 24 shades. They’re one of those ranges that literally comes in everything from your everyday nude and classic red to black, green and blue. Like seriously, think of a colour and somehow they’ve fitted it into 24 shades. It’s kinda impressive.

I picked up the shade Single which is a your lips but better shade.

The packaging is really cool. I feel like this is something Fenty just get right. It’s in a sort of futuristic shiny packaging that’s an octagon shape (there’s my a level maths coming in handy!). I love the packaging, but I do have this weird thing where it does sorta feel light. Like I always imagine expensive lipsticks and makeup to have some weight to them.. it’s potentially just a personal thing. But yeah, the lightness of the product sorta makes it feel cheaper

But putting it aside. Gorgeous. Also love how they’ve embossed the bullet. Even if it’ll get worn down in like 2 uses. The bullet lipstick is also really small and so it’s really easy to apply without getting messy!

So the first thing I notice about this lipstick is it takes pigmentation to a whole new level. Like the swatch at the bottom of this post is literally one swatch. Like no going back and forth like I usually do. It makes application so quick and easy.

Also. Beyond comfortable. For a matte finish lisptick, you can barely feel it on the lips. Like there’s almost nothing like it

It also doesn’t seem to cling to any dry patches, which is another great bonus.

Now we’ve got the raving out of the way. The only downside I can think of (and it’s not much of one) is it’s not the longest lasting lipstick. Probably because it’s such a creamy matte. Although it does fade nicely rather than do that horrible patchy thing where it dries round the outside.

But like, who cares. It’s comfy, easy to apply and looks great! So just wack it on again!

Now I really want to get more lipsticks from this range. Which is kinda annoying, because they ain’t the cheapest!

Also, now really want to try other things from Fenty! Any recommendations?

  1. If you’re into gloss, the Fenty Gloss Bombs are nice. I like the Highlight duos but they’re nothing special and I love the loose powder too. They do minis which I didn’t know until recently!

  2. The packaging is amazing! I’m thinking to invest in a lip gloss more as they bring a nicer look. Great post by the way!

  3. Ohhh my, this looks amazing. :O I am a big fan of matte lipsticks, I can even say that I only wear matte. I think it looks great on the lips and creates a somehow more natural look. Also, this color is exactly my type. <3
