It feels like forever since I was able to wear a red lippie on a night out, but it doesn’t stop me from thinking about it or wishing I could wear them again! I mean, sometimes the temptation is there to wear a red lip at home, by myself, while no one sees, literally for no reason. Does that make me weird? Potentially…. but meh!
And while I think about all the lippies I wish I could wear, I thought I would round up my favs. Today; red lipsticks, tomorrow; nude lipsticks!
L’Oreal Paris Rouge Signature Lipstick I Am Worth It £9.99
It’s no secret that I LOVE this lipstick. After discovering it at the tail end of last year I’ve been obsessed with it ever since. Super long lasting, pigmented, easy to apply and not too drying. It’s one of those lipsticks you can put on and almost forget about it for the rest of the night. Why isn’t everyone shouting from the rooftop about this lipstick man!

Mac Lipstick in So Chaud £17.50
I feel like Mac lipsticks are such a staple, but I have this weird feeling like the era of Mac is already over. So here’s my attempt to drag it back from under the dirt. Mac lipsticks are amazing. They have this unique scent that you recognise everywhere and their formula really is just amazing. This is one of the matte formulas, so it isn’t too drying and looks super pigmented. But what I love most about this lipstick is the shade, it’s a orange toned red that’s not too much and it’s deffo one of the favs!
NYX Simply Red Lip Cream in Russian Roulette £9.30
Still haven’t quite got over the fact that NYX discontinued this, but felt like it needed an honorable mention! This is one of those formulas that never got enough appreciation. It’s a classic red shade, which is super easy to apply, even easier to wear and the lasting power isn’t too bad either. And, who doesn’t love a lipstick in a pencil format? They’re just too easy to wear!

L’Oreal Color Riche Shine in Insansation £8.99
This is the only glossy textured lipstick in this top 5 and it’s kind of why I love it. Something a little different. Also, when you think of the complete, almost cinema ready red lipstick, this is the shade you think of. This is super easy to wear, even easier to apply, but it doesn’t carry the lasting power of some of the other lipsticks in this list. But you also don’t care because it gorgeous and the finish it has makes your lips look healthy and full.
Bourjois Rouge Fabuleux Lipstick in 12 £8.99
I lover pretty much every single shade in this range. They’re super pigmented (like it takes one swipe), easy to apply due to their shape, even easier to wear and they last for ever!! And I love this colour as it’s a red, but it carried the wine coloured undertone that makes it the perfect red for the winter months!

Shades from left to right: L’Oreal Paris Rouge Signature Lipstick I Am Worth It, Mac Lipstick in So Chaud, NYX Simply Red Lip Cream in Russian Roulette, Bourjois Rouge Fabuleux Lipstick in 12 & L’Oreal Color Riche Shine in Insansation
So there are the top 5, the premier league of lipsticks.
What are your top red liosticks? And I’ll see you tomorrow for the nudes!

Both of the L’Oreal shades are gorgeous! My favourite reds in my collection are MAC’s Ruby Woo (a classic), xoBeauty’s Impavid and YSL’s Rouge Pur Couture #1 (I have a mini of this and it’s stunning!)
OMG Ruby Woo! I hear it’s so drying though (hence why I’ve never picked it up).
And oooh I’ve never tried one of the YSL lipsticks, but it looks stunning! x
I apply a small amount of lip balm before Ruby Woo and it stops it feeling dry. The colour lasts all day too – it looks like red velvet <3
ooooh.. and then it’ll literally last forever! x
These are so pretty! You can’t go wrong with a classic red
I know right! Gorgeous 🙂 x
