L'Oreal Infallible Foundation Stick and Concealer Pomade Review

L’Oreal have extended their Infallible range (which I already love) to include a new pomade concealer and stick foundation – two products I have to say I don’t normally use. So, these two new launches are very much new territory for me and I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect. But, I knew I wanted to try them out.

L’Oreal Infallible Foundation Stick is actually relatively affordable at £8.99. It comes in 12 shades, which is… reasonable, but in no way impressive. I have the lightest shade here – Vanilla – and it actually matches me pretty well. The thing I noticed about this foundation stick is that it is sooo easy to apply. It’s a super creamy formula (which I was not expecting), it blends out really nicely. On first application it’s a medium (possibly light-medium) coverage, but it builds pretty well and without going all funny. It has a satin-like finish on the skin. And overall, I am very impressed.

However, after the 4 hour mark… while your foundation still looks pretty good at a distance…. if you look at your skin up close, the foundation has begun to separate and it kinda looks like a hot mess. I’ve tried it with a number of primers, and the same thing keeps happening… it could just be my skin… but for this reason, I find it a little difficult to wear for a day…

The L’Oréal Paris Infallible Concealer Pomade is, I feel, a little more pricey for what it is, at £6.99. It only comes in 5 shades, and one of those is a peach.. so more of a colour corrector. Meaning, while this shade is ok for spot concealing, I can’t use it under my eyes… as it’s WAY too dark. I did try it as an under-eye concealer however, and it was ok, just a little heavy, and I found it creased. As a spot concealer it is actually pretty good. I apply this with my finger tips and the coverage is impressive, it’s fairly long lasting, and it does a good job of covering those blemishes that liquid concealer struggles with. I still prefer my Benefit Boing concealer, but this is a pretty good drugstore option.

Overall, these are ok products. Both have their positives and their flaws. The packaging of both is actually really nice, and gives the impression of a more higher-end product. And, if you are only wearing the foundation for a few hours (which could happen), it’s a beautiful product… but it just doesn’t wear well…

Have you tried these products? If so, what did you think?

  1. I recently bought the stick foundation, I paired it with The Ordinary high adherence primer and it works so well! I wore it out on a night out and it didn’t budge 💃🏻
