Is The Beauty Blender worth the hype?

I have long been the advocate for the Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge, and more recently the Eco Tools sponge, however, I have always wanted to try the actual Beauty Blender. People had always told me once you had used one, you would never want to go back… so… here we go.

First things first, it’s much smaller than I thought it would be, even when it’s dampened, it’s much smaller than the Eco Tools or Real Techniques dupes, but it does mean it’s easier to get into the contours of your face. The other weird this to say is it’s texture is actually very different. The cheaper sponges are amazing, but in comparison, they are slightly tougher. The original Beauty Blender feels much more like a super porous sponge, and so much softer.

As expected, it applies foundation super easily, and the end result is very natural. I find sponges just so easy to use. The shape is very good to apply both all over the face and around the awkward parts of your face. It cleans well, and it’s lasting well.

While I loved it, and I still prefer a sponge miles over brushes, do I think the end result with a £16 sponge is actually better than the end result with a £5.99 sponge? I have to say, no…. (please don’t shoot me)

So, would I say it’s worth the hype? Yes. Would I say it’s worth the cost in comparison to the other sponges? No

What are your opinions on the original Beauty Blender?

    1. They are subtly different.. but honestly they’re not different enough in my opinion. It you love your RT sponge, stick with it, pretty sure I’m going back to mine 😛
