Sometimes high end products are actually really worth their money, and while I totally rep the drugstore 90% of the time, some of my high(er) end products are the ones I usually reach for on an everyday basis. (N.B I’m counting Benefit as a high end makeup brand…)
Benefit Boing Concealer – The only high end concealer I have ever owned. But, I love it. If you need something that needs covering, this is your best friend. It’s amazing. I find it’s best applied with your finger, and you need to find your perfect colour match (which this is), and it doesn’t work under your eyes.. but on blemishes, this is a life saver1
Smashbox Contour Kit – I only use one colour out of this, so I don’t tend to travel with it, but the colour on the left is the best! It is the perfect contour shade! It’s not too cool or to warm, not too pigmented, and blends like a dream!
Benefit Hoola Bronzer – I only have the mini version of this, but it’s all I need to be honest. But this is perfect for warming up the complexion, and for making me look like I’ve spent some time in the sun!
Model Co Blush in Cosmopolitan – Literally my everyday blush shade. It’s soo perfect. The colour is the exact shade I would naturally blush, and it’s not scry pigmented, so it’s easy to work with. The packaging is a tad clunky, but meh, the product is awesome!
Mac Eyeshadows – There are four shades in here I use ALL THE TIME, and I really want to replace some of the shades in here so that I get more use out of the palette as a whole, because the quality of these eyeshadows are incredible. They’re super pigmented, and easy to blend, but the thing that makes them stand out from my drugstore products is that they last all day without really wearing at all.
Illasmaque Precision Ink Eyeliner – If you need a super black eyeliner that won’t budge, at all, all day, even if you get wet, or you know you’re going to cry, or whatever, then this is your one. It can be a pain to get off at the end of the day, but if I need an eyeliner that I need to stay on all day, this is the one!
Mac Lipstick (Velvet Teddy) – Easily my most worn lipsticks, my mac lipsticks are my favourite of all time! If I had to pick my favourite, it would be velvet teddy, which is such a stunning brown nude shade. And, to be honest, at £15.50, these are definitely worth it! And I am 100% buying some more!
Lancome Lipstick (L’Absolu Rouge) – I only have a tiny travel version of this, but it makes it perfect for travelling. This is a stunning, and easy to wear and has the nicest sweet scent!
Elizabeth Arden Lipstick (Iced Grape) – I feel like most people over look Elizabeth Arden until they become older. However, their lipsticks are one of my favourite formulas of all time. Super pigmented, comfortable, long lasting. And this colour is my perfect deep, berry(ish) toned nude. Love love love!
Nails Inc Gel Effect Nail Polish (Regents Place) – I am a nail polish hoarder. Seriously, I try to sort them out, and I just can’t. And while I am still obsessed with my Barry M Nail Polishes, and I have to say I love my Essie ones as well. Nothing really stands up (formula wise) to the Nails Inc nail polishes. Obviously, you’re paying a lot more to use them, but they are pigmented in like one coat (WHAAAT), and they last ages.
I hope you’ve enjoyed this! Let me know some suggestions, as I really want to try some more high end makeup, but I never really know where to start!
