When I first started working in an office, the dress code “Smart-Casual” seemed possibly the vaguest thing in the universe. What the hell is this magical term? And, while even after 2 months, I still couldn’t tell you. I thought I would gather some inspiration from our favourite inspiration space – Pinterest! I’m also going to film a OOTW video over on my YouTube channel with some of my favourite Smart-Casual looks for work.
This on is stunning! I love the mix of the camel coloured shirt with the black mini skirt. This is definitely something I could see myself wearing. Source
I have blue trousers in a very similar style, and basically style an outfit in exactly the same way. I feel like with a nice pair of fitted trousers, and a plain black top, you can get away with wearing white converse/plimsoles. Source
Everything about this outfit is making my heart melt. I’m not usually one for pink, but that skirt is gorgeous. I love the little collar on the shirt, and the colour scheme is actually adorable. Source
I feel like as we’re coming into Autumn, we need to embrace that you can wear jumpers in the whole Smart-Casual vibe. Tuck a jumper into a skirt or some fitter trousers, and you’re sorted. Source
Classic. Black trouser/jeans, a nice white top, and a cardigan. You can’t go wrong. This is edging more on the casual vibe, but for a Friday… perfect. Source
I feel like this is such a classic, that it’s often overlooked. Dark, skinny, plain jeans, a white shirt and black trousers are timeless. Source
The paperbag waist trend was one I really love, and tucking a nice white blouse… it’s so cute! Source
The classic combination of the dark jeans, white blouse and cardigan. Source
Another example of how you can mix jumpers into a more Smart-Casual vibe, this time with an A-line skirt. There are a lot of these around, and they’re really flattering. Source
The quickest way to take a casual outfit to Smart-Casual? Add a blazer, and better still, a fitted blazer. Really can’t go wrong. Source
I like the fact this is a lighter jumper tucked into a longer skirt. Very feminine. Source
