April 21 Empties | Skincare, Haircare & Makeup | Would I Repurchase?

Another month over and we all know what that means…. Yes, I go on a rant on how quickly the previous month went. Like seriously it’s an issue! But you’re not here to hear my existential crisis , you’re hear to read my mini roundups on all the products I used up in April!

Empties posts are one of my favourite posts to read, there’s something really satisfying about finishing a product, throwing it in my basket and then, at the end of the month, giving you all a roundup! And this month was a good’un!

Glow Recipe Banana Souffle Moisture Cream

I wrote a full review on this over on my blog a few months back. Like it was nice, I enjoyed it, the texture is really lovely and it’s a lightweight and hydrating cream. The scent is a little overpowering, and honestly I don’t think it warrants the price tag.

Ecooking Vitamin C Serum

This is one of those brands I’d never heard of. But when I posted this on my Insta stories to say I’d finished it, I had a flood of DMs saying the brand is amazing… so now I want to try everything. This Vitamin C serum did not react with my skin (Allies of Skin, I see you)! It was hydrating, really nice to apply, gave you a fresh and clean feeling and I would 100% repurchase!

Augustinus Bade The Rich Cream

I got this in my advent calendar and didn’t think too much of it, then I started to look into it (while I tried to work out if it was a day or night cream – turns out you can use it whenever) and worked out it was mega expensive. Like take out a mortgage to buy a face cream expensive. Now I know price is a little subjective, as what one person can afford is different to someone else… but £205?! Seriously?! I mean, don’t get my wrong, it was one of the most luxurious feeling face creams I’ve ever tried… but I just can’t stomach that price!

Body Blenz Coffee & White Clay Exfoliating Capsules

(Gifted) I can summarise my feelings of this product in four words; amazing product, horrible smell. There is something about the blend of coffee and vanilla which made me feel a little sick. But the product is amazing! It had this way of making your skin look really fresh and clean! The capsules are also super cute, and I love how they look like little coffee capsules, but it’s a lot of single use plastic. If they did an unscented version of this in a big tub, I’d be all over it!

Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser

I mean, what a classic! I’ve had like 3 of these bottles in my life and I’m sure it’ll be something that comes back into my life again. There are some cheaper alternatives out there that work nearly as well, but the original is always the thickest and most luxurious of them all! … sounds like I’m writing a fairytale or something!

Neutrogena Clear & Defend Wash-Mask

Neutronena is one of those brands I forget about until I remember how solid their products are. They’re on the same par of Simple and Nivea… like their products are really good everyday skincare items for affordable prices. They’re not going to blow your mind, but they just work. This face wash was the perfect morning face wash. It left your skin feeling almost tingly clean and super cool.

Verso Eye Cream

You know you try those products, and you know you kinda liked them, and then you instantly forget all about them. That’s how I felt about this eye cream. I know I liked it, and I know it sparked me to go and try more higher end eye creams (hello Clinique eye cream I featured in my favourites), but honestly I don’t remember anything about this and I only finished it 2 weeks ago. Says it all really.

BeautyBio Bright Eyes Eye Masks x2

(Gifted) So I have a full pack of these, so don’t expect these to be the only ones you see! I will keep my full review for when I’ve finished all of them, but so far they’re pretty good!

Sure Bright Bouquet Anti Perspirant

I mean it works, it does the job. Is it good for the environment? Not really. Have I tried natural deodorants and really not got on with them? Yes

Charles Worthington Shine Plex Vitamin C Serum

We all know any hair serum has big shoes to fill. My John Freida Frizz Ease Serum just works perfectly with my hair type (slightly frizzy with a few kinks, but otherwise straight and fuss free), and while this is a good serum… it’s not the same! It left my hair looking glossy and healthy (which I guess it what it claims), but it also left my hair looking a tad greasy after just one day…

Barry M Gelly Hi Shine in Acai Smoothie

It’s rare I finish a nail polish, but this colour is just perfect! The Barry M formula applies in just 2 (sometimes you can even get away with 1) coats, it dries fairly quickly and it chips no quicker than any other nail polish on my accident prone self! Would 100% repurchase

Imperial Leather Moonlit Skies Bath Soak

Since moving into my new flat I have fallen head over heels in love with baths! After not having one in my life for like 10 years, I’m now having them once a week… and I’m not looking back! I swap between Imperial Leather and Radox, but this scent was really nice!

Rituals The Ritual of Sakura Celebrate Each Day Body Scrub

This has such an interesting texture! It’s a sugar based scrub packed full of nourishing oils! Which means it does this incredible job of leaving your skin feeling super soft, with also this film of oil on it… it takes a bit of getting used to, and it does mean you can’t just jump out the bath and pull up a really skinny pair of jeans, but for that super luxurious bath, where you jump out of it into your PJs, I’m all here for it!

Susanne Kaufmann Kissenspray Beruhigend Pillow Spray Calming

I mean when I wrote that name down I didn’t quite understand half the words I was writing… but all in all this pillow spray was nice. Like it smelled really nice, but I’m not one of those people who scents and essential oils particularly help them relax or sleep. But, if they really help you, this could be for you! It has a strong scent without it being irritating to your nose of skin (as it’s sprayed on your pillow), and it’s £20, making it one of the more reasonable options on the market.

And there you have it. All the products I used up over the month of April. A little nuts when you think about it, but what can you say? Also, is it mental to think we’re already in May?! Where is the year going?!

What have you used up this month?

  1. Okay, you know I love your empties post – for some reason I want to do something like this but I don’t think the girls would enjoy me keeping empty stuff around ahah
Loving the shade of that Barry M polish, and the sound of the Augustinus Bauder cream (yet the price tag is waaaaay out of my league!)

    1. Wow! Quite the empties, you have here! The Glow Recipe Banana Souffle, the name calls out to me but after reading the smell is overpowering and a not so deserving price tag, I’ll cancel the calling!

Two items I’ve tried though are the Imperial Moonlit Bath Soak and Rituals Sakura scrub. At one point it felt like id moved their laboratory to my bathroom! 🤣

  2. Aw I really enjoyed the Glow Recipe Banana moisturiser, but totally get what you mean about the price! It is expensive for what it is. Also congrats on finishing a nail polish, that always feels like such an achievement for some reason haha xx

  3. Wow! That is a lot of products!
I have a really difficult time with strong scents, so I love that you talk about how the product smell. It can make all the difference for me. Thanks for another honest review! Looking forward to your next empties post!

  4. I love Liz Earles hot cloth cleanser! I bought myself a set of the products when I was in my first trimester as a pick me up!

  5. There is only a few items that I know on this list, so I have discovered a lot of beauty products. I ave to say, I love that shade of nail polish too…it is just a great shade of pink, isn’t it?

    Thanks for sharing 🙂

  6. It’s great that you got some more empties this month! I’m big on finishing skincare and makeup products unless it is an obvious allergy. Oooh I haven’t heard of these brands before except for Neutrogena. Pretty cool to learn about what’s out there! Thanks for sharing!

  7. I love that pillow spray, but fly through it. I have that Augustine cream to use – half afraid to in case I like it! Ecooking is a brand that I LOVE! I am using their body lotions at the moment, their peeling mask is amazing and their Vitamin A capsules too. If you want to try more from them, beautylymin at the checkout will save you 20% – not affiliated at all! x

  8. That rich cream sounds crazy expensive! it’s nice you got a sample to try but I wouldn’t be repurchasing it at that price either, haha! It’s good you liked so many of these things enough to want to repurchase 🙂

Hope you had a great weekend! It was a busy one here! 🙂
