I am a HUGE fan of the original Bourjois healthy mix foundation, alongside their City Radiance foundation, it forms basically the only two foundations I use on an everyday basis. So I was sort of both excited and heartbroken to find out they had reformulated their foundation and concealer.
They are the exactly the same price they were before (£9.99 for the foundation and £7.99 for the concealer), and come in the same shade range as before – basically, great for the average caucasian person, but if you’re dark or really pale… well, good luck.
The formula of the two are almost identical to the original; they are both lightweight, with low coverage, look and feel super natural on the skin, and last pretty well throughout the day. I love this for most days, because I wear foundation normally to counteract the excessive redness of my skin rather than to actually cover anything. But if you want some serious coverage, neither the foundation or concealer will be for you….
They’ve updated the packaging of the two, changing from the circular bottle to the square bottle with the red top. I have to say, I do actually like the repackage, it looks a little more modern and ‘high-end’. The foundation comes with a pump, which is always a bonus, and I find that two pumps is the right amount, while the concealer has a dofer applicator.
The only real complaint I have is that it seems to oxidise. It’s not crazy… as in you won’t look like an oompa loompa, but it’s more than the older formula… and I have to say, I’m sorta upset. However, if I mix it with a little drop of lightening drops, then it’ll be absolutely fine!
Have you tried this? If so, what were your thoughts?
