WHAT DID I GET IN MY ADVENT CALENDARS THIS WEEK // WEEK 4

Can’t believe Christmas itself is now over, the countdown has finished, the roast turkey has been eaten and the presents opened. Anyhow, I can’t not show you the final week of items from the Cult Beauty and Look Fantastic advent calendars! And also wrap up the final totals from both advent calendars… I can’t wait, so let’s get cracking!

Here’s everything I got in the final 6 days of both advent calendars, which both included Christmas Day itself.

Look Fantastic

Day 20 – Mio Clay Away Body Cleanser 30ml

I feel like Body Cleanser is a very fancy way of saying shower gel. However, putting that aside.. I’m always up for trying something new in the shower… and I always feel like these slightly more higher end brands (even though it’s still not that expensive) lather up so much nicer than the cheap £1 bottles. So can’t wait!

Value: £3

Day 21 – Filorga Time Filler Cream 15ml

I’m pretty sure I’ve had one of these in the past and my ex used it up… however, I am now officially 25 and so I probably should start thinking about the future and anti ageing and all that… so I should probably give it a go!

Value: £16.20

Day 22 – Caudalie Vinopure Purifying Gel Cleansing 30ml

I love Caudalie as a brand, and in 2021 I deffo want to try more from them! However, I can’t wait to try this in the meantime!

Value: £3.20

Day 23 – Avant Harmonious Rose Quartz Revitalising & Firming Mask 50ml

Oooo can’t wait to try this! Love a good face mask! And for nearly £80 this better be good!

Value: £79

Day 24 – Lord & Berry Magic Brow

Sucks if you haven’t got brunette hair. However, I do, and so it’s all ok for me. But I do feel like it’s risky including anything that doesn’t work for different complexions… but ah well! Haven’t used this before, and so I will keep you posted on how it goes!

Value: £15

Day 25 – ESPA 24-HourBalancing Moisturiser 55ml

This is a full on full size product! It’s surprisingly liquid, so I’m not 100% convinced it’ll be my thing… but when I’ve finished up my Body Shop moisturiser I’m currently using, I will totally give this a go!

Value: £42

Cult Beauty

Day 20 – Dennis Gross Skincare B3 Adaptive Superfoods Stress Rescue Super Serum (15ml)

I have so many serums from these two advent calendars I’m pretty much set for life! Putting that aside, this sounds great!

Value: £37.50

Day 21 – Susanne Kaufmann Pillow Spray Calming (75ml)

I’m really not convinced these things work… especially as I don’t have the best sense of smell. However, I’ll give it a wack!

Value: £20

Day 22 – Jordan Samuel Skin Retinol Treatment Oil (30ml)

Another skin oil/serum thing. Can’t wait to try it though

Value: £38.50

Day 23 – Charlotte Tilbury K.I.S.S.I.N.G Lipstick in ‘Stoned Rose’

OMG this is amazing! I’ve always wanted to try a Charlotte Tilbury lipstick! This feels a little yellow undertoned for my liking, but I’m still 100% going to use this! the packaging and formula off first impressions is amazing!

Value: 25

Day 24 – Jo Loves Fig Tree Votive Candle (70g)

So personally I’m not a fan of fig. So not sure I’ll ever burn this, but will be keeping it on the side as a sort of ornament!

Value: £20.35

Day 25 – Patchology Little Helper Energy Dietary Supplement Strips (6 x 0.1g), Larry King Hair Care A Social Life for Your Hair (30ml), Huda Beauty Topaz Obsessions Palette, Milk Makeup Lip & Cheek in ‘Werk’ (3g), Nudestix Intense Matte Lip + Cheek Pencil in ‘Belle’, SUMMER FRIDAYS Overtime Mask (64g) & Cult Beauty – Beauty Banks £15

Well wow! Not even sure where to start! You’ve got some dietary supplement, which I feel is a little random. We’ve got a hair serum, which I can’t wait to try, but it’ll have to do a lot to stand up to the one I use on the daily. We have a HUDA Topaz Obsessions Palette, which tbf if I only got this I would have been so impressed! There’s a mini Milk Makeup Lip and Cheek cream stick in a really pretty pink colours. We have a Nudesticks pencil which I’ve been using throughout the festive period (i.e. the last few days) and I’m so impressed! A full size (yup, you heard me right) Summer Friday’s face mask… I’ve been wanting to try this brand FOREVER and so I’m so excited! And then to wrap the day all off, there’s also a £15 donation to Beauty Banks, which is kinda adorable!

Value: £10 + £12 + £25 + £6.50 + £20 + £39 (+ £15 charity donation)

So looking at just the final week, it’s safe to say it’s been an insane one! Cult Beauty (as nearly it always does) outperforms the Look Fantastic one with a value of £253.85 (+£15 donation) to £158.40! And let’s face it, day 25 on the Cult Beauty advent calendar was insane!

However, here’s my final verdict!

Look Fantastic Advent Calendar

So at a cost of £85, you have over £560 value back. Meaning that you have a ROI (there’s a marketing term for you) or 6.6! So for every £1 I spent I got £6.60 of product back! You have 8 makeup products (or 7 makeup items and one makeup brush) in the box of 25 things. So the proportion isn’t bad, but if makeup is your thing I could imagine you might get upset. However, I still got some cracking items in here and I can’t wait to try everything out and share it with you over the next few months?

Favourite item? The Natasha Denona Blush Duo!

Cult Beauty

So it’s no secret the Cult Beauty advent calendar has an insane value in it! Totalling to over £975! The price tag was slightly more though at £199, meaning that the ROI was slightly less at only 4.9… but I’m still not complaining! The advent calendar contained 32 items (which is slightly mental!) 9 of which are makeup… which is still not the best ratio, but in Cult Beauty’s defence they are 8 amazing products! The products are all a really good size, a good range of things and all in all I am so pleased I got my hands on this calendar!

Favourite item? This one is so much harder to pinpoint as I have wanted some of these items for such a long time! However it’s between the Hourglass blush, Summer Friday’s Mask or the Charlotte Tilbury Lipstick!

I’m pretty much obsessed with these two advent calendars! And alongside the Glossybox one (which I didn’t get my hands on this year) and the M&S one (which they didn’t do this year) these are my favourite ones!

Did you get an advent calendar this year? If so, what did you think?

  1. Looks like you got some fab things in your advent calendars. I can never bring myself to buy one even though they are value for money but maybe one year I’ll try one out.
