OFRA Rodeo Drive Highlighter | Is It Worth The Hype?

Is there a more famous highlighter than the OFRA Rodeo Drive? Probably only Becca’s Champagne Pop. But either way, there’s not disputing that this is a classic and no bloggers makeup collection would be complete without it. So after lusting over it for many years and through two variations on the packaging I picked it up in the mini version on Black Friday and can’t wait to share with you my thoughts!

Packaging & Price

Always the place to start, OFRA is sort of around the high-middle in terms of it’s price point. The full size highlighter (which has 10g of product) is £31, while the mini (which I have here and has 4g of product) is only £13.95. And, as someone who’s never hit pan on a highlighter before, it made sense to me to chose the smaller option.

As mentioned, OFRA changed their packaging from round tubes and round powder products to this white, chunky square packaging. And while I appreciate the new branding (in terms of the white finish and the graphics etc), I actually miss their old packaging. This feels a little too large and clunky considering the amount of product you have. Though I do appreciate the mirror, and it certainly now feels luxe to match the price tag.

Colour & Formula

The OFRA highlighters come in a few ranges, but I went with the classic. And, to be honest, it’s a tad too dark! I have to be a little bit careful with how much I apply or it can look like a line on my skin. But, to be fair, that’s not really OFRAs fault, and it’s not their doing that the UK gets no sun and so I’m pretty much casper the ghost!

Putting that aside, and using it more as an inner corner and brow bone highlight, the formula is stunning! It’s one of those highlighter that gives you a wet base and then a shimmer on top. And the pigment is out of this world! It also lasts really well on the skin. So to put it mildly, I can totally see the hype!

Overall Thoughts

I mean all in all, I don’t think I’m ever going to need more product than this! Partly because it’s so pigmented you don’t need much and partly because I’m mainly using it on my eyes… but I would seriously recommend getting a mini if this is on your wishlist (that is, unless, this will be your primary highlighter and you will actually use it all)! Overall though, love the formula and want to get one that better matches my skintone!

Have you tried this? If so, what did you think?

  2. Oooh I haven’t heard of this brand but the colour is lovely. Shame they changed the packaging but the addition of the mirror is great!

  3. Looks pretty! My experiments with various highlighters in the past never seem to quite work out. But using a lighter eyeshadow, in general, beneath a darker one works better.

  4. I have this highlighter and do love it but I agree it’s so intense and a little goes along way. This is the type of highlighter I apply with a tiny brush carefully on the highest point of my cheekbone

  5. Thank you for sharing! It’s pretty hard to get Ofra in the Netherlands, so buying it always takes a lot of consideration for me, but this might actually be worth it! I don’t have many highly pigmented highlighters, so this seems like a good addition to my collection!
