For those of you who don’t know, EX1 has just launched in Boots in the UK. It’s a brand I know nothing about, but I saw their new foundation in Boots when I went in the other say and I really just wanted to try it.
It comes in 13 shades, which is kind of reasonable, and it’s £12.50, so the same sort of price as a No.7 foundation. I have the shade 1 (the lightest) and it matches me pretty well.
Here’s what it says online:
A lightweight and luminous liquid base, formulated with light diffusers which unify skin tone and cover imperfections effortlessly. Specially designed ‘true colour’ pigments work perfectly with your skins’ natural tones in an ultra-blendable formula.

On first application it’s a pretty medium coverage, with a satin finish. When applied with a beauty blender (my preferred application, and the only application I can really get to work) it looks smooth and doesn’t seem to cling to dry patches. So far so good. However, it doesn’t really set… so it’s one of those foundations that whenever you touch your face it wears off… making it a terrible foundation for me (who has hayfever like all the time).
However…. if you use a good setting spray, and reapply said setting spray (I used the NYX Matte Finish Making Fixing Spray) periodically throughout the day, then it does basically set down.
Also, side note, the packaging is pretty – with the rose gold lid and base.

Have you tried this foundation? Or anything else from the EX1 range?
