New: Makeup Obsessions DIY Eyeshadow Palettes

I feel like the photos here speak for themselves, so I won’t be writing a heck of a lot. But I wanted to share with you my thoughts on the new Makeup Obsessions Palette.. and, well, my palette. I wasn’t originally going to share this because one of mine have shattered, but I feel like this is probably quite a good insight for you all.

Makeup Obsessions are a new brand launching in Boots that basically allow you to create your own palettes. They sell blush, bronzer, highlighter and eyeshadows that all come individually and then you can pop them into a big palette. The highlighters are meant to be amazing, but I have enough highlighter to last me for the rest of my life, so I thought I’d try the eyeshadows.

Unfortunately one of them came broken, so I would say be careful, and maybe don’t travel with this eyeshadow palette… because they are possibly more delicate than most.

So the shades I have are; White Out (A matte white shade), Rich (a shimmery gold), Daze (a matte, all over the lid, skin colour – perfect for blending out into), Rare (such a beautiful copper colour) and Bourbon Brown (a deep chocolate, sort of mocha colour).

The packaging is cool, they come in individual eyeshadow cases, and cost only £2!! which is great. An then you pop ’em out and put them into your palette. The palettes come in all different colours (white, black, pink, etc.) and then you can put whatever you want in it. So it’s a really personal palette… for a fraction of the price of other brands (e.g. Mac).

The brand is going strong, and has such a unique idea, and then they fall down on the pigment. These shadows have basically 0 pigment to them… it’s such a shame, because I feel like these could really rival Mac. And while I hear great things about their blusher, bronzer and highlighters (which I don’t currently have), their eyeshadows are lacking somewhat… but then again they’re only £2 each… but then again so are MUA and Revolution and they get their pigment on point.. so….

What do you think?
