It is no secret that I am a BIG fan of a nude lip! It’s my go to, my comfort zone, and I have to say I feel like most of the population agrees with me! However, I have started to really get into a bold lip. I feel like over the last 6-12 months I’ve really found a small collection of bolder lip choices that I feel safe, comfortable and happy wearing!
There’s always that thing when you wear a bold lip, where you’re always slightly conscious that it’s smudged across your face, or it’s done that horrible cracking thing, or you just look like a drag queen (not that there’s anything wrong with that if that was indeed the look you were going for). However, I can rely on these to just work!
NARS Velvet Lip Glide in Burning Love | I mentioned this in my high end lipstick blog post, because it really is one of ma favs! I’ve really grown to love a red lip and this one is pigmented, easy to apply, lasts a really long time and isn’t too drying!
MAC Lipstick in So Chaud | So it’s no secret that I LOVE a MAC lipstick. If I could have the entire range in my room I’d probably be the happiest person alive. Alas they’re like £18 a pop and there are literally hundreds of them and I don’t have thousands of pounds to spend on lipsticks! Getting off topic… the So Chaud lipstick is gorgeous! It’s a gorgeous orange toned red that has a gorgeous matte finish. It can be a little drying, but the colour is just gorgeous!
Illamasqua Antimatter Lipstick in Energy | I know. It’s a bright purple lipstick. Am I ok? This is definitely the most out there of the lipsticks, but it’s actually a really pretty colour! If I’m feeling bold, I wear this fully opaqually and own it. However, I have to say, most of the time, I tend to apply a light wash of this and it looks kinda edgy but still wearable!
Stila Liquid Lipstick in Fiery | Another formula I spoke about in my favourite high end lipsticks (here if you want to red it by the way!), the epic Stile Liquid Lipsticks! And the shade Fiery is a classic!
L’Oreal Signature Matte Lipstick in I Speak Up | I mean I freaking love this range of lipsticks (read my review here) and I’ve not been afraid to say it! It’s an ink-like formula that is really thin, but packs a punch when it comes to pigment and literally lasts ALL day! I would include the red in here as well, but one we’re a little red’d out and two I think this bright pink is beautiful! Probably (well I’m actually more certain than that) my favourite bright lipstick ever!
And there ya have it! My favourite bold lipsticks! Gorgeous, pigmented, easy to apply and generally 5 brilliant lipsticks!
