Rochelle Humes – the face of the New Max Factor Luxe Collection – has collaborated with Caroline Bames (Max Factor’s make-up artist) to create The Luxe Collection. The idea is that it’s a series of glamorous looks that are inspired him Rochelle’s lifestyle. There are 4 products in the new Luxe Range, which are exclusive to Superdrug, and available (for a limited time) throughout Summer.
These products are essentially oldies but in new packaging, and so they will be available after the summer.. just minus the funky packaging. Just thought I’d share my opinions on these products – as a few of them I’ve used before.
Max Factor Luxe Collection Facefinity Primer £10.99 here
I’ve used this primer before, and I loved it! And I mean loved it! I used it EVERY day until it ran out, and I’ve missed it ever since. And so, when I got the chance to by another one, I just HAD to. This primer is beautiful. It comes out in a moisturiser texture, it prolongs the longevity of your makeup, and it even helps when you’re applying your makeup. I would highly recommend this!

Max Factor Luxe Collection Lipfinity Lipstick Ever Sumptuous £8.99 here
“Max Factor Lipfinity Long Lasting Lipstick: up to 8 hours’ colour and moisture.
Your secret to vibrant, all-day luscious lips. Giving you up to 8 hours’ long-lasting wear, the new moisture-replenish lipstick is infused with lip conditioners and nourishing oils. It glides effortlessly across your lips, leaving bold colour and a cashmere-soft feel. For vibrant, nourished and luxuriously soft lips.”
Actually, to be fair to Max Factor, these claims are, on the most part, completely true. The lipstick is so easy to apply, creamy, doesn’t tug on the lips when you apply it. I find with the bold colours, you need a lipliner to make it super neat (but I find that even with Mac Lipsticks), but other then that they’re fool proof. They’re super moisturising, almost like a lip balm. However, they come with the pigmentation of the lipstick. The 8 hour claim however..hmm.. Yes, they are long lasting lipsticks – definitely some of the longest lasting lipsticks I’ve tried, and a lipliner does increase it’s life. However, if you eat food, they do fade. And after about 4 hours the colour begins to fade also. However, it just becomes sorta less opaque rather than patchy, and so it doesn’t look like it needs touching up – with is a massive bonus, and something I really look for in a lipstick.
Onto shade shades;
Ever sumptuous is a bright coral toned red that is perfect for Summer. I feel like this colour is so in right now. It’s actually a really pretty colour. Stay exclusive is a true baby pink. It’s a beautiful barbie colour, not the natural, everyday nude pink, more a glam, out there pink.
Max Factor Luxe Collection Masterpiece Max Mascara Black £9.99 here
This mascara is an easy to apply mascara that doesn’t fall out or smudge throughout the day. It provides non-clumpy black eyelashes with a little bit of length and volume, but nothing crazy. The brush contains a lot of small bristles, and makes it easy to reach every lash. I feel like I need a little more than this mascara has to offer, and for that reason, I wouldn’t repurchase.
Overall, I feel like the collection includes a great selection of Max Factor’s products. However, I’m not sure I really get the point. They’re effectively old Max Factor products with a cellophane packaging that you take off straight away to reveal the old product. I mean you may as well just buy the originals, then there’s less stuff you have to remove…
