Lets face it, our minimal makeup doesn’t change all that much from season to season, I just seem to find I get a lot busier and want to be outside a lot more in the Summer and so my minimal/quick makeup is therefore required significantly more.

When I’m in a rush I don’t use foundation. Lets face it, it takes ages to apply, and blend, and sometimes foundation just feels a little heavy on my skin. So, I opt for a concealer; which I want to be high coverage, yet easy to blend. Yup, you guessed it (and you can see in photos above?? duh) I use my trusty Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer. I love this stuff, and you’ve heard about it many times before. To set it down I love to use my Bourjois Healthy Balance Powder, not only does this help everything stay where it should be, it very gently mattifies AND it provides a little extra coverage; what more could you need?

And that’s it, and I move onto eyes. Another step I skip when I’m in a rush is the over complicated eye look with the multiple eyeshadows and the perfect wing. This is all completely solved by the Maybelline Colour Tattoos, the one in the photo is On and On Bronze (which is a beautiful shimmery copper), but let’s face it, they’re all stunning. Just apply it all over the lid, you can build it up, or leave it as a sheer wash. But whatever you do, it looks like you’ve spent hours blending out 3 different eyeshadows, when, in fact, you haven’t! Win! I finish the eyes of by curling – this will make you look more awake without piling on the highlighter and concealer – and then give my lashes two coats of the Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara. Yes, I have only just recently tried this – don’t shoot me – but if you’re looking for a quick, easy, beautiful lashes in a rush that don’t look clumpy (that was a long description), then this is your mascara. I wouldn’t say it adds any incredible length or volume, but for your everyday, this mascara is amazing!

Then finish the entire look off with a bit of lippy. This is where I tend to mix things up a lot more, but I have been completely loving my Mac Lipstick in Faux, it’s a satin finish, so perfect for those who still want a (more or less) matte finish, but don’t want the dry lips that come with it. Plus, it’s a beautiful brown toned nude that everyone’s going crazy for, and it was my first ever Mac lipstick, and my best friend bought it for me – winning combination!

So 5 products to get my face looking vaguely presentable for leaving the house. If I’m completely honest, this is probably what I wear most days… but I do like to go full out sometimes.. or mix it up by adding a BB Cream – revolutionary I know. I hope you enjoyed this, and let me know in the comments your go-to products for a minimal/quick makeup routine.
