I have never owned anything by Elizabeth Arden, and I hear people rave about it. So, I thought it was about time I gave it a go. While browsing the SALE section of makeup at House of Fraser when I came across this set.
I don’t think you can get access to this anymore, because it was a holiday collection of which I bought right at the end. But, I only paid £57 for this! (when I bought two other Elizabeth Arden items… but let’s ignore that). When this arrived I was so exited, it was like Christmas all over again!

The concept behind this gift set is that it gives you everything you would need for two face looks; one ‘day’ and one for a ‘date’. Although I don’t think I will use the products in such a divided way, I think it’s a nice concept as it gives you a great choice of subtle ‘everyday’ colours as well as bolder ‘evening’ colours.
It comes with its own vanity case. I can’t make my mind up about this. I mean the colour is gorgeous, and it is huge, and so will fit loads in. But, I don’t know if it is just too huge. I have no idea when or where I would take this.

The first thing to say about the collection is the packaging. I think it is stunning. I love the gold theme and everything feels so luxurious and weighty. Also, strange thing to say, but I love the fact that the mascara is in square packaging. It means, while I’m doing my makeup, I’m not charging off after my mascara that’s just fallen on the floor. Because, where you put it is where it will stay! I’m sorry, I just find that fab!
I love that the eye shadow palettes contain a good mix of highlight, lid and crease colours, as well as a black for tightlining when I’m in a rush (and don’t want to use liquid eye liner). They’re also a really nice texture at first feel and they look stunning. Literally can’t wait to start using them!
I can’t wait to start trying everything out and creating make up looks using these products, and I’ll get back to you telling you of their success, or their (un)success…

I’d never owned any either, but I was looking in the Sales on House of Fraser and they caught my eye. They are beautiful, and the lipsticks are my favourite!
Wow this seems like a right bargain! Hope you find some absolute crackers in there!
