New | Maybelline Lash Sensational Sky High Mascara

New | Maybelline Lash Sensational Sky High Mascara Review

It’s no surprise that Maybelline’s latest mascara has taken the world by storm. Not only are they the drugstore kings/queens of mascara, but it’s the latest edition to their Lash Sensational mascara… which let’s face it, is a classic! So when they launched their Lash Sensational Sky High Mascara a little while back I knew I HAD to pick it up. And here I am sharing with you my thoughts.

Before I get cracking, this is what it says on the Superdrug website…. ‘Super lengthening, super volumising. The sky is no longer the limit with Sky High mascara!’.

Price & Packaging

So being Maybelline this mascara is pretty affordable: it’s £9.99 (making it either the same price or £1 more than the original Lash Sensational Mascara, depending on the site). You get 7.2ml of product, which is quite a lot less than the original mascara which is 9.5ml of product. The tube is the same shade of metallic pink as the original Lash Sensational, but is this time a standard circular bottle with a debossed name. It’s relatively attractive, but also quite light.

The Applicator

As with many of the Maybelline mascara this has a plastic bristle. It’s relatively straight up and down, but with a slight angling off towards the end. However, the most noticeable thing about this mascara (and what I tried to portray in the photo above) is just how bendy this mascara is! However, when applying it to your lashes, it doesn’t seem to move about too much, or at least it doesn’t in the way I apply my mascara, but you do find you don’t have to use the brush completely straight on, as it will bend to match your lashes depending how you hold it.

How Does It Apply?

I actually really rate how buildable this is. With one or two coats it’s like a standard mascara; i.e. good amount of volume and length but nothing wild and you can get away with it being ‘natural’… though clearly not! However, add one more coat and you’re suddenly talking next level volume! I can’t say I see a lot of length, but my lashes are quite short, but I really do get a lot of super black, thick lashes with this! But somehow it doesn’t get all spidery

Overall thoughts?

For how I would use this, I would say it’s about on par with the original Lash Sensational mascara, but with the lash sensational coming up cheaper, it’s probably what I’ll reach for more often. However, if you like a thick, nearing on clumpy lash, then this will be the one for you! Worth its hype? I think so

Have you tried this mascara? If so, what did you think?
