New | I Heart Revolution Mermaid’s Heart Palette

I Heart Revolution Mermaid's Heart Palette Review

So I Heart Revolution is the ‘replacement’ company of I Heart Makeup, and the entire Revolution brands are taking the world by storm! I feel like I Heart Revolution is much more playful and kind of aimed at the younger market with its cutsie packaging and themed palettes such as this one; the Mermaid’s Heart Palette.

The palette is £6.99 putting it in the lower end of the price range in drugstores, but definitely not the cheapest. The packaging is a cardboard blue packaging that opens with a magnetic closure. You would think it looks and feels cheap, but it’s actually done rather well and I have no complaints…. well other than the fact there is no mirror – which is kind of annoying, but in no way a deal breaker.

The palette includes 12 shades across the green, blue and orange tones including (as far as I can tell) three finishes. The palette has 3 completely matte shades (the pale lemon colour, the pale peach and the vibrant orange), 3 basically matte shades with a tiny little bit of shimmer (the sky blue, the slightly grey-toned blue and the grey), and then the rest of the shades are shimmery! The shades are beautiful, although I do feel like there are a lot of the mid toned shades and not a lot of darker or super pale shades.

As with most cheaper palettes the formula of each shade varies a little, with the shimmers on the whole being beautiful and the mattes on the whole being a little more powdery. However, on the whole the shades translate on the eyes really nicely! I find, for me, this palette is that go-to coloured lower lash line palette… you know, when you wear a neutral look on the top lid and then a bright pop of colour on the lower lash line. The wear time on these shadows are good, but there are definitely palettes out there that wear better.

So, if you’re looking for a nice pop of colour, or something a little more fun, then I would recommend it! However, I do honestly think the ‘main’ brand Revolution do better eyeshadow palettes

Have you tried this? Or any other palettes from I Heart Revolution? If so, what did you think?
