Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Palette | Worth the Hype?

Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Palette Review

With the release of the new ABH palettes, and it’s hugely mixed opinions, I thought it was about time I release my own thoughts on the older, much adored, Modern Renaissance Palette. Now, people love this, and rave about it, and have for some time, and I knew that I NEEDED to try it – because the shades are literally right up my street!

With 14 super warm, sunset-kinda shades, with a mixture of mattes and shimmers this palette gets me excited in all kind of ways! They all compliment each other beautifully, and I like how there is a beautiful array of light, mid and dark colours. While there is no black, or near-black, I don’t feel like the palette is particularly crying out for one.

A few of the paler shades don’t show up drastically on my skin, but I think that’s more due to my pale complexion, however they do blend into the other shades really well to lighten or adjust the other shades in the palette. But overall the pigment is really impressive, and all the shades blend out like a dream – literally one of the easiest palettes to work with in that respect.

There is a fair amount of kick up in the pan, and some fall out on the face, but, to be honest, who cares when the shadows are this beautiful? Also, I feel like the packaging could just be a little more sturdy. While, yes, it is beautiful, it’s made out of cardboard/felt material, and I can see it getting battered and filthy pretty quickly.

At £41 this palette is a lot of money, and there are a lot of more affordable dupes out on the market, however, I would have to say I really do recommend this palette! The formula is just exceptional!

Have you tried this? If so, what are your thoughts?
