Week of Lipsticks | The Advent Calendar / New In Edit

So, if you’ve never been here before… every month or so I set myself a challenge to wear a different lipstick everyday of the week. Usually it’s to force me to wear things that are already in my collection and to share my love of things I own… HOWEVER, you may or may not have known that I got a lot of new lipstick in December. Through a combination of Black Friday, my advent calendars and Christmas presents I picked up a few… and so I thought I’d share my first thoughts (and one full review) on them…

And yes, there are 7 days in the week but only 6 lipsticks… but sometimes I don’t wear makeup ok?! haha!

Nudestix Intense Matte Lip + Cheek Pencil in Belle

Ok how have I not tried Nudestix before?! I am obsessed with this lip pencil! Haven’t used it as a blush yet, but it’s so comfortable and easy to wear on the lips and the shade is so pretty! I’d never really considered this brand before, but after these first impressions I really want to try more from them!

NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil Do Me Baby

I’ve always wanted to try these lip pencils, they’ve been on my wishlist and in my shopping baskets WAY to many times! And I’m so excited to have this in my collection. This shade is gorgeous and this is a really comfortable matte ‘lipstick’. I’d say (on first impressions), I’m not as obsessed with the formula of this as I am with the Nudestix pencil…

bareMinerals Mineralist Hydra Smoothing Lipstick in Honey

So this is a true first impressions as I’ve only used this once. But on first impressions? Smells weird, feels super comfortable on the lips. That’s about as first impressions as you can get! The colour is so cute though!

Illamasqua Loaded Lip Pencil in Vogue

So I spoke about this on my Instagram the other day… I’m really not a fan of this lipstick. While the colour is gorgeous and it does look beautiful on the skin… I’m not a lipgloss person because I really don’t like that sticky feeling (you know where your hair gets stuck in you lip product) and that’s what this is! It does dry down after an hour or two… but still!

Charlotte Tilbury KISSING Lipstick in Stoned Rose

I LOVE this formula, but this shade is surprisingly orange toned. The camera does exaggerate it somewhat, but it is still orangey. However, the formula is gorgeous! Hydrating and comfortable and the packaging is so cute

Dose of Colors Matte Liquid Lipstick in Truffle

I’ve literally only just posted a full review on this lipstick, so this is the fuller review out of this selection. But it’s also the lipstick I’ve had the longest (as I picked it up in the Black Friday sales). This colour is just gorgeous and the formula is also great!

And there you go! What have you been wearing on your lipstick this week?

Katie x

Processing…
Success! You're on the list.

  1. Beautiful lipstick! Lipstick are my favorite makeup thing too. But during this pandemic, I can’t hardly wear lipstick because of face mask. Huhuhu. However, this is a cool post. Thank you for sharing.

  2. That’s a great selection Katie! I haven’t tried any of them, but lipsticks being the only thing I usually wear, I will check them out! Love the Dose and Bare Minerals shades! Thanks for sharing xx

  3. Great post! I love the idea of wearing a different lipstick everyday! I might start doing it once we can go out again as I always used to wear the same 3 lipsticks all the time even though I have a whole collection! These lipsticks look so nice and I’ll check them out. Thank you for sharing this!

  4. The NARS and Dose of Colours shades are stunning! It’s fun to go through your collection and shop your stash occasionally 🙂 I’m going to pick out five shades and only wear those for an entire month and naturally I’ll see which shades I gravitate towards. I’ve been loving Urban Decay’s Backtalk lately x

  5. I hardly ever wear lipstick but I would love to try Bare Minerals next time I’m in the market for some. I work from home and wear a mask in public but it might be fun to try some different ones for fun! Thanks for the idea!
