The Moving Makeup Declutter | 1. Base Products!

Makeup Declutter - Foundation, Concealer, Primer, Powder

So I took a week off to celebrate my Birthday… but now I’m back! And it’s now less than a month until I move, so I’m back with the moving content! And can you really move house without organising everything you own? Well I know I can’t! So I thought I’d start with makeup and share with you everything I’m keeping and getting rid of.

I’ve been on a spending ban for most the year, and while the odd thing has crept its way into my collection, it’s certainly helped it hone down… so while I know this collection is much bigger than it should be, it’s also a passion of mine… and I’ll be sure to share with you all the new bits and bobs I’ll pick up when I move in in early November!

So let’s go with the top drawer in my collection; the base drawer! So we’re talking primer, foundations concealers and powders! Let’s see what we’re keeping…. (PS: if you want the reviews, click the link on the product name)

Makeup Declutter - Foundation, Concealer, Primer, Powder

The Primers!

Elf Mineral Infusion Face Primer | This is one of those primers I only picked up a few months ago, and I’ve been really enjoying trying it out! It’s one of those primers that leaves your face feeling super hydrated and ready for makeup! Keeping.

NYX Honey Dew Me Up Primer | I think this is fast becoming one of my favourite primers! I love how it leaves yous skin feeling super tacky and ready for makeup to stick to! Keeping.

L’Oreal Infaillible Luminizing Primer | I’ve kept this primer through a number of declutters because it does look really nice under a super full coverage makeup look. However, I just don’t wear a full coverage foundation all that much… so I don’t think I’ve actually used this for a long old time. Declutter

L’Oreal Infaillible Magic Essence Drops | So we all know I love this primer! It’s hydrating, feels lovely on the skin, and helps you look glowy without any glitter involved! Keeping.

The Foundations!

Max Factor Radiant Lift Long Lasting Foundation | While I actually quite like this foundation, it’s not one I find myself reaching for and so I feel like the space in my collection could be better taken up with some foundations I love! Declutter.

EX1 Invisiwear Liquid Foundation | You know those products in your collection you just completely forget about… yes this is what for me! And while I don’t know there’s anything wrong with it, just not another one I reach for. Declutter

Dior Backstage Foundation | So, while I’m still slightly annoyed that this is in completely the wrong shade for me, I’m actually still going to keep hold of it… BECAUSE there’s a concealer in my collection that’s way too light for me and they work really well together to sort of contour without contouring!

CYO Lifeproof Foundation | So apparently I’ve never reviewed this foundation… which I find kind of nuts! I actually really like this foundation. I’m trying to use the whole thing up and I’m totally getting there. This is going to be that foundation I keep with me when I’ve packed everything else up. Keeping

Collection Primed and Ready BB Cream | I’ve actually really grown to love this! While this certainly doesn’t compete with my IT CC cream (which I’m 100% repurchasing when I move in), it’s helped fill the void! I’m sure I’ll finish this in the next month, but it’s certainly staying for now. Keeping

Max Factor Miracle Skin Foundation | Ha. I hated this. I’m pretty sure it’s only still in my collection because I just haven’t got round to decluttering it. Declutter

MAC Studio Fix Fluid Foundation | Ah, while I haven’t done a whole review on this foundation it’s appeared on my blog many a time! It’s a great, buildable coverage and a perfect colour match for me! I love it! Keeping.

The Concealers

L’Oreal Infaillible More Than Concealer | I honestly think it someone held a gun to my head and forced me to chose (not sure why I would be in such position, but you know), I would chose this as my favourite concealer ever. It’s good coverage, easy to blend, the perfect shade, long lasting and you get a good amount of product in a tube! Keeping

Revolution Conceal & Define Concealer | I had this back when it first launched, and now can’t remember what I thought about it! This is a completely unopened concealer so definitely one to keep hold of. Keeping

Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer | So I have both old and new, but both are loved! The old ones are on the way out and I’ll finish them between now and moving, but the new one is definitely one to keep on board! And this super light shade works perfectly with my Dior Foundation! Keeping

Rimmel Match Perfection Concealer | Such an old concealer… and while I feel this was good for its time. It’s not one I use any more. Declutter

Cover FC Cream Concealer | This is one of those paint-like concealers. Like if you need something to cover the uncoverable, I love this one! Keeping

L’Oreal Infaillible Concealer Pomade | When I used to have a desk, I stored this in my drawers. It’s such a great cover up concealer, and once or twice I’ve used this as a foundations. Still an all time favourite. Keeping.

The Powders (& Setting Spray)

Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray | So while I’m in the band of people who doesn’t think this is worth the money… it doesn’t mean I don’t like it. Therefore I’m totally going to use it up. Keeping.

RCMA The Original No-Color Powder | This is totally my setting powder of choice! I’ve never known a setting powder set like it. But I have to say, the packaging is annoying! Keeping.

Revlon Candid Powder | I basically only keep this to decant my RCMA powder into, that I’m actually able to use it! Can’t remember what I thought about it to be honest… but keeping to continue being a decant box. Keeping.

Rimmel Stay Matte Powder | Ah what a classic. Just can’t not have it. Keeping

Well, that’s it! Hope you enjoyed and I’ll see you Thursday for another installment.

  1. I bought the Dior Backstage when it was launched and honestly is one of the best foundations on the skin – it has the exactly coverage I like, the skin looks perfect and I found the perfect shade (I was 2N, if I’m not wrong) but after using it a couple of times, I noticed a few blemishes. It still haunts me the fact that I found the perfect foundation but it must have some ingredient (I think) that I’m allergic! And the same happened to my friend! I’m happy that you can use it without problems 🙂
