My Top 10 Most Worn Lipsticks Of All Time

So I took a little break because… well why not? And also felt like I needed it! But do not panic, I’m not going anywhere and I’m very much back! And a newsletter will be hitting your inbox next week! But, the lipstick addict in me felt like the best way to come back would be with a top 10 most worn lipsticks. These are the lipsticks that I not only love, but I find myself gravitating towards all the time.

Like you know when you have those lipsticks where the formula probably isn’t the best in the world, but there’s just something about it? Yes, there’s a few in here. But there’s also just some cracking lipsticks. So let’s get rolling….

MAC Faux & Velvet Teddy

I feel like makeup has come so far since Mac lipsticks were all the range, but there’s also just something about them. The packaging is sleek, the smell is nostalgic and the shade range is somewhere between stunning and overwhelming. But they just hold that special place in my heart. And so, therefore are hands down, without a shadow of a doubt, my most worn lipsticks of all time. These two shades in particular. Every time I do any look, I know these will match. And… yup. Classic.

Illamasqua Lava Lips in Vixen

So this is probably the least worn of these 10, but that’s because it’s a new ‘most worn’ lipstick! It’s one of those lipsticks that’s been sat in my collection for a while, and then I rediscovered it and I’ve been obsessed ever since. It’s a really comfortable, easy to wear lipstick that has such a stunning colour payoff!

Bourjois Rouge Fabuleux in 06

These lipsticks are really pretty! I have a few of them, and love them all. But this is definitely the most worn of them. Another nude bullet lip. Love it

Max Factor Honey Lacquer in Honey Nectar

So this is one of those lipsticks I used to be obsessed with for months and months and it’s slowly slipped down the rankings, but it’s still a stunning colour and formula! Glossy, but fairly long lasting. Comfortable, but with good colour payoff. It’s just a really lovely lipgloss / liquid lipstick hybrid. I’m not 100% sold on the rest of the colours in this range, but this one is a keeper

Ofra Long Lasting Liquid Lipstick in Charmed

So I actually finished one of these in the old packaging (remember when Ofra liquid lipsticks were round?), and since repurchased! This is just one of those classic ‘your lips but better’ nudes! It’s a semi matte, really long lasting and a pretty shade. Plus, smells delicious.

NYX Powder Puff Lippie in Group Love

And now we’re getting away from nudes (hallelujah right)! This is one of those really odd formulas that are difficult to explain but there’s just something about it. So it’s like a powder formula (but doesn’t feel powdery on the lips and isn’t drying) that gives you that natural flush of colour with still a decent colour payoff. It won’t give you crisp lines and bold definition, but if you’re slightly nervous of a red lip, but you want your lips to have that natural red flush. This is your girl

Trifle Cosmetics Lip and Cheek Jam

This sort of fits into the category above. Of the ‘you’re scared of red, but it’s a red’ lipsticks. I love this formula. It’s a stain (more or less), so the colour stays around for a while, and there’s next to no transfer. But it is subtle, and you again, lack the definition. But it definitely has its place.

L’Oreal Paris Rouge Signature Lipstick I Speak Up & I Am Worth It

So there is something about these lipsticks that I just can’t get enough of. I was that person who was terrified of wearing bold lipsticks round and about because of smudging, bleeding or that weird thing where it dries but leaves the colour as a line around the outside of your lips. But these just don’t do that! The colours are stunning (avoid the deep berry tones), the wear power is impressive, they’re super comfortable on the lips and the colours are fun! Only downside is that there’s a fair amount of transfer, but also…. who cares! Love ’em!

Special shout out goes to the TopShop lipstick in Devotion. That I was obsessed with, and actually finished… but TopShop reformulated and repackaged the entire range and so it doesn’t really exist anymore

And there you have it. My top 10 most worn lipsticks of all time!

What are yours?
