I try to really control my spending… I need to understand that my disposable income is now really not that much now I pay London rent, and I try to leave as much money possible for the “new in” posts. However… sometimes I just can’t resist, and I just have to buy things.. so I’m going to share with you today the bits and bobs I’ve been picking up over the last month or so.
Expect reviews on most of these items in the coming week(s).
I went into the Inglot store in Westfield London (which I live worryingly close to) and I was given a gift bag filled with an eyeshadow duo (with a grey and a cream eyeshadow in that I’m not sure I’m really going to use), a beautiful turquoise nail polish (in the shade 687) and a token for a free NEW Satin Lipstick (and I picked up the shade 306, a classic nude). So… luckily I spent a grand total of £0 to get these items… but it still feels like I spent some money – fab!
Next was BeautyBay. This website is my real weakness. I have a serious addiction to this website, and if I could buy most the store… I probably would. Anyway, I controlled myself slightly and purchased two items. The first was the HUDA Beauty Warm Brown Obsessions. I had heard so much about the HUDA eyeshadows that I really really wanted to try one of them. These mini palettes, which contain 9 eyeshadows, are £25…. so a little more digestible than their larger palettes which cost you an arm and a leg. I went for this palette because these are all shades I would wear on an everyday! Review coming soon!
The other thing I bought from BeautyBay was actually one of those things I saw on Facebook adverts and really wanted… those things really get me. And this was the Anastasia Beverly Hills Matte Lipstick Nudes Set – which includes 4 miniature matte lipsticks in beautiful nude shades for £22. And, as I am yet to actually finish a lipstick, the miniature sizing really doesn’t bother me… plus they’re cute!
I also went into H&M to buy a basic white top… I didn’t leave with a basic white top… instead I left with two bits of their makeup range – which I haven’t tried yet. The thing that first really caught my eye was the Single Infinite Impact Eye Colour (aka eyeshadow) in Desirous. It’s such a beautiful shimmery copper-red colour, and the packaging is stunning. Normally I’m not a single eyeshadow person, but this just called to me. And then while I was there I thought I would try out the H&M Natural Bronze Solar Flair Bronzing Powder because I have no self control. This is a very slightly shimmery warmish bronzer shade which would work perfectly in the Summer.
And then the last place was my good old trust friend – Superdrug. Which has this set of Real Techniques eyeshadow brushes for under a tenner! It comes with three brushes and the funny-shaped sponge they do. The brushes are a strobing fan brush (a slightly thicker fan brush), the multi-task cheek brush (which is just a slightly fluffier version of their contour brush) and the targeted blender brush (amazing for blending on concealer!). I’m not sure about the stripy handles… but they were so cheap I’m not complaining!
What have you been purchasing recently?

I’ve got the Huda Beauty palette and love it so much! Can’t wait to read your reviews about it and those pretty lipsticks! x
I know, I’ve wanted it for so long! And I’m SO happy I have it 😀
Great haul! I have the Huda in the Mauve Obsessions. I love it! I’m looking forward to your review on this one because I’m considering picking it up, too.
I literally love it already! (spoiler! :P) x
Ooooh I do love a cute mini lipstick for the same reasons – that I’ve never finished one and those are less guilt to keep and use!

That ABH lipstick set looks so pretty! I don’t blame you for purchasing the Huda Palette, it’s been on my wishlist for a while.
My shopping weakness is colourpop, I can’t get enough of their eyeshadows!
I’ve never tried colourpop… I’m kinda terrified to buy US brands in the UK 😛
haha I know what you mean, you never know how much the duties & import fees will be 🙁 ColourPop seems to be expanding quickly though so I wouldn’t be surprised if in a year or two you can get it in the UK!
Fingers crossed x
