2016 Favourites… Where Are They Now?

1. These photos are really old school

Now I’ve got that point out the way, let’s get into this. When I was putting together my 2017 favourites, it got me to thinking how similar it was to my 2016 favourites… so I did a little search back through to my blog, found the post (read it here), and had a quick little read to see what, out of it, I am still loving and still using… I was pleasantly surprised. It’s really intriguing to see how many of your old favourites you are still actually using!

Base Products

I used to LOVE the Max Factor Face Finity All Day Flawless Primer, and while I still use it occasionally, I don’t really use it much anymore… however, it’s still a great primer. My foundation of choice was always the Bourjois City Radiance Foundation, and it is still to this day the only foundation I’ve actually finished and repurchased… but I recently found a lot of foundations I love… so it gets a little neglected. My concealer loves really haven’t changed; the Benefit Boing Concealer is still an amazing concealer… I just lost it and I was devastated, the Bourjois Radiance Reveal Concealer is still perfect for under the eyes; illuminating and brightening. And the Rimmel Match Perfection Concealer is another great option… don’t know where my Collection Lasting Perfection is… but that’s another favourite. My Soap and Glory One Heck of a Blot is still another firm favourite – great packaging, great product!

Cheek Products

OMG my Smashbox Contour Kit, I used to use this ALL the time. It was one of the first high end products I purchased… it doesn’t get as much love anymore, but it’s still a great great product! Another firm favourite still is the Body Shop Honey Bronzer, still use this all the time. The Benefit Hoola Bronzer is still a great powder, I just don’t find myself reaching for it much anymore. For powder blush, the Model Co Blush in Cosmopolitan is still the perfect blush shade, and if I’m going for a cream blush it’s still the Rimmel Royal Blush. The Sleek Solstice Palette is still everyone’s favourite.. but I have to say I don’t really reach for it much at the moment.. don’t know why.

Eyebrow & Eye Products

Oh the Miss Sporty Quad in Smokey Brown Eyes, the GOSH Eyeshadow Palette in To Enjoy in New York and Max Factor Smokey Eye in Sumptuous Gold. These three are still some of my favourite palettes of all time. I’ve discovered many since (read my most used palettes here) but these three are still amazing! For eyeliner the Soap and Glory Supercat Eyeliner is still a firm favourite. I swap between mascaras left right and centre… so I don’t really have a single favourite…

For eyebrows, the one and only product for me is STILL the Maybelline Brow Satin Pencil. I’ve just been pairing it will a clear brow gel now…

Lip Products

My two Mac Lipsticks in Faux and Hot Gossip are still my go to’s – alongside Velvet Teddy now. The Rimmel Kate Moss Lipsticks are still very good, and every time I use them I remember how much I love them… but I really just don’t reach for them.. and I really don’t know why. When I use a lip crayon, it’s still the No.7 High Shine Crayon in Delicate Pink. I gave little shoutouts to the NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in 19, the Collection Velvet Kiss Lip Cream in Caramel and the Bourjois  Rouge Edition Velvet in Nude-ist… still great options.

So, basically I still use everything here… weird huh?

Are you still using your 2016 favourites?
