I’m actually a sucker for a good makeup book. I don’t really know why, because I’ve never actually read one cover to cover, I tend to flick through them when I have time to spare. However, I’ve build up quite the collection over the years and I love having them on my shelf.
Tanya Burr | Love Tanya – With a short biography and tips and tricks from everything from fashion to makeup to food, this is a great all over guide to life. The pictures are beautiful, it’s great to see all the little snippets of Tanya’s life.
Lauren Conrad | Beauty – Now this is a more beauty heavy book. It does have a little lifestyle in it, but it’s basically full from start to finish in makeup, skin- and haircare tips and tricks. Plus, Lauren is beautiful.
Fleur de Force | The Glam Guide – Another general life guide; with makeup, skincare, haircare, first dates, fashion tips as well as anecdotes from her life. I love how this book is laid out. You can read my full thoughts, and loads of images here
Fleur de Force | Luxe Life – Similar to the Glam Guide, this is basically the upmarket version, with high end makeup tips, how to dress to impress, a collection of recipes and other tricks. You can read more thoughts here
Bobbi Brown | Makeup Manual – With twenty-five-plus years of makeup styling experience distilled into one book…. this is all you’re ever going to need in the way of makeup tips and tricks books. It’s a relatively new one to me so I haven’t given it a good read yet. But, so far so good!
I think it’s because they resemble really expensive magazines.. I’m not sure. However, I’m always looking for new ones. So, if you have any suggestions, let me know.
