Favourite Red Lip Combo

Favourite Lip Combo

I’m normally one to avoid a red lip. Not because they don’t suit me, or I don’t like them. But because I’m absolutely terrified they’ll smudge everywhere, or get on my teeth, or basically just look like a hot mess. Don’t get me wrong, there are some red lip options out there I do love (Rimmel The One Matte in Take the Stage, Mac Lipstick in So Chaud, Stila All Day Liquid Lipstick in Fiery, to name a few). But, in my advent calendar I received the NYX Simply Red Lip Cream in Russian Roulette… and I fell in love. Head over heels in love.

As you all probably know, but favourite red lip liner of all time is the Rimmel Exaggerate Lip Liner in Red Diva. It’s the only lip liner I’ve ever finished (and actually this is my third). I love the fact it’s a mechanical pencil, and so doesn’t need sharpening. It’s super super easy to apply, as it glides across the lips and is super pigmented. It’s long lasting. And not too drying – though possibly is a little drying.

However, paired with the NYX Simply Red Lip Cream… which, is amazing! These Lip Creams are pigmented, super super comfortable to wear, easy to apply, very long lasting and just generally beautiful products.

Pair the two together you have a dream. For the first time I can wear a red lipstick out and feel comfortable that it’s going to look stunning. Unfortunately it’s not completely kiss proof, and you will need to top up the NYX lip cream after eating… but it doesn’t smudge across your face and it doesn’t get on your teeth. Plus, it’s soo comfortable you almost forget it’s there.

What is your favourite red lip option?
