Who doesn’t love the festive period for a smokey gold eye and a bright red lip? I mean, it’s a classic. It’d a look that suits basically everyone, and you really can wear all year round… but somehow it always screams Christmas!
I’m really loving my base at the moment. I prime with the Max Factor Smooth Miracle Primer; it’s moisturising, a little bit tacky and makes your face look and feel smooth. I have then been loving the Rimmel Lasting Finish Breathable Foundation. It’s a very light coverage foundation.. however, I have really been loving allowing my skin to breath (ha! Funny right?), and just putting extra coverage where needed with my Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer. I also use a little bit of the Bourjois Radiance Reveal Concealer under my eyes just to add a little bit of brightness. To Set everything down I use the Soap and Glory One Heck of a Blot Powder – one of my favourite powders of all time!
To add some colour and shape back in to my face I have been loving the same three products basically for the entire year – let alone just for this makeup look. They all look super ‘natural’ when applied with a light hand, but can be built up to be more intense. However, they all contain a lovely bit of glow to bring some life back into my winter skin. The Max Factor Creme Bronzer in Light Gold has been a favourite for some time, and I would say my favourite bronzer of 2017. I then add a subtle bit of blush with the Nars Orgasm Blush – a cult favourite. On the tops of my cheeks I add a little bit of the New Look Glow Baked Highlighter in Pink Pearls.
I use my trusty duo of the Maybelline Brow Satin in Medium Brown and my GOSH Brow Gel in Clear to fill in and set my eyebrows – these have been firm favourites and basically my only favourites of the entire year… possibly even two.. I’ve lost count.
For a smokey brown eye, you really need look no further than the Max Factor Smokey Eye Drama Kit in Sumptuous Golds. These are quite expensive for how much product you get… however the formula is amazing, everything is super pigmented, easy to blend and shimmery and it sticks around for a long time. Plus, it’s fool proof. I add a little wing with the Soap and Glory Supercat Eyeliner, preferably the skinny, however many Boots don’t ever have this in stock. I add a generous amount of the L’Oreal Paradise Mascara and finish the whole look off with a bright red lip – the Stila Stay all Day Liquid Lip in Fiery.
Simple. Classic. And a little bit sexy. Exactly what you want from your festive look.
