New | Bourjois Rouge Velvet The Lipstick

One. I didn’t realise how similar these shades were (so no judging), and two, I realise I haven’t bought the full range… but I ain’t made of money!

Bourjois have launched a new range of lipsticks, and I have to say, I am super excited. I love Bourjois as a brand – their foundations, concealers, powders, mascaras and lip products get me excited! I have so many favourites from this brand I went into trying these with such high expectations.

There are currently 12 shades to the range ranging from your super nude to your bright red to your berry colours! Every colour in the range is a shade I can see myself wearing, which I appreciate, because I’m not going to lie, while a purple or a blue is cool, do you ever really wear them?! (I will leave a screen shot of the shades below) I have two shades from the range, which as you can see are super similar. They are shade 03, which is the slightly deeper nude-pink shade, and 02, which is the slighter paler pink-nude colour.

At £8.99 they’re towards the higher end of the drugstore, but they are still well priced considering. Their packaging is simple, elegant, and I love the fact you know what colour the lipstick is by looking at the packaging – it makes finding the right shade in your makeup collection so easy!

They are super easy to apply, they literally go on like a dream and the shape of the lipstick just makes the whole application process even easier! They’re pigmented, for the first hour-ish, super balmy and comfortable. They have a super matte finish, which means the longer they’re on, the more drying they get – but what super matte lipstick doesn’t? Plus, just use a good lip balm before hand and you’re fine.

They last reasonably well, and don’t transfer massively. Like they’re not OMG, but it’s impressive and all you could ask for from a lipstick really.

Just love these and I’m definitely going to buy some shades that aren’t identical to the two I already have!
