(Updated) My Mac Palette

Any long term, eagle eyed reader among you will be reading this thinking but Katie, you posted this blog post last year? And yes, I did. But I had 4 shadows in there I really just wasn’t using. So, I removed them, and I added 4 new shades. And now I LOVE my palette. Is it worth the £90+ price tag? No. Do I think these are the best eye shadows on the market? No. But, do I love this palette, am I impressed with the lasting power, do I use it on an everyday basis (nearly), and do I take this everywhere with me? Yes.

Mac Palette 3
Swatches (from left to right): Gold Mine, Brown Script, Swiss Chocolate, Copper Ring, Antiqued, Embark, Amber Lights, Cork

The only shade I didn’t swatch was Rice Paper. Because, honestly, it doesn’t show up. I have this shade because it’s the perfect shade to lightly highlight the brow bone. It’s super subtle, but lifts that area. And so, in a swatch it doesn’t really show up.

Other than that, I have a lovely array of warm, neutral shades that all complement each other, and they create my go-to eye look. There are 4 matte shades (Cork, Embark, Chocolate Swiss, Brown Script) which actually work really well on their own, and then some beautiful shimmer shades (Amber Lights, Antiqued, Copper Ring, Rice Paper and Gold Mine) which I apply over the lid to add a little something something.

In terms of formula, some of the shades are better than others, which for the price point of these shadows is a tad disappointing. But Brown Script, Copper Ring, Antiqued, Embark and Amber Lights are stunning, and I use Cork as a sort of base.

What Mac eyeshadows do you love?

      1. Thats the same as me! I always think one more thing one hurt, and then if I have to spend over a certain amount to get free delivery, then I’m screwed 😂 Would much rather spend an extra £20 on products then spend £3 on shipping 😂
