Having never tried a cushion foundation I didn’t really know what to expect, neither did I really have a comparison, but people were always saying that they provide great coverage while being super lightweight, and so I thought I would pick up the new Maybelline Cushion Foundation!
First thing to say, this is the lightest shade, and for me this is definitely my Summer shade, it is fairly dark. But, props to them, it doesn’t oxidise on my skin, so the colour is applies is the colour it stays!
The coverage is medium-buildable, but it feels and looks super natural after two or three coats. It looks really nice on the skin and doesn’t seem to settle into pores or lines or anything weird (but I was using my Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer). And while it lasts a reasonable amount of time, it does rub off pretty easily I find (i.e. if you rub your face or blow your nose), but then again a lot of foundations do.
I have to say, for the Summer months, I really do think this will become a staple!
