I am slowly but surely favouring the phrase ‘less is more’ and I find myself putting less and less makeup on my face as each day goes past. Whether it’s because I’m getting lazier, or because I’m starting to feel more comfortable in my own skin than I ever have before… who knows? Maybe it’s both – that is probably the answer. However, one thing is becoming clear; I am gravitating towards the same products day in day out, so I thought I would share with you what has been in my makeup bag over the last (I want to say) few months!
For foundation I have been loving the Maybelline Fit Me (read my full review here), it is super light, and so matched my current skin tone perfectly, it applies like a dream and looks stunning… not the longest lasting, but I sort of see past that because I love it so much. I use a mixture of Rimmel Match Perfection and Revlon Colorstay, I know they’re relatively similar in terms of formula, but I love them both, and so I keep them both on hand. I set everything down with a classic; the Rimmel Stay Matte Powder, do I need to say anything about this powder?! It’s iconic. Then to bronze, blush, and highlight I use my Sleek Contouring and Blush Palette. It’s super easy, every powder is stunning, and it has been a savour for me this past month with all my short trips away from home.
For brows I have my favourite combo which I don’t think I could live without; Maybelline Brow Satin (now in Dark Blonde as I’ve bleached my hair lighter) and Gosh Defining Brow Gel. I find the combination of the two give me my perfect natural, but still well defined brows and I don’t use anything else… ever.
For eyes I’ve fallen in love with my Mac Eyeshadows, more specifically the shades Cork, Antique and Swiss Chocolate. They’re pigmented, easy to blend and last all day, and create my favourite eyeshadow look! I don’t often use liner any more, but when I do I’ve fallen in love with something new to me; the NYX Super Skinny Eye Marker – it’s amazing! I still love my Soap and Glory Supercat, but it’s nice to have something a little different, but still exactly the same. I finish it all off with my Benefit They’re Real Mascara, another classic.
I love a nude lip, and I also love my Mac Lipsticks – they really are my favourite. The two shades I have been loving recently are Hot Gossip (a cream sheen, pinky nude, more on the pink side than nude though) and Velvet Teddy (does this colour even need explaining!?)
Simple. What makeup products are you loving right now?
