New | Maybelline Fit Me Foundation

Foundation is one of those things I really struggle with – I find they’re either too dark, too heavy, don’t last long enough. Literally, foundations are the bane of my life. But, for someone who gets randomly annoying red skin, I really rely on foundation.

When I saw Maybelline had come out with a new version of their Fit Me foundation, I was very excited. Why? Because these foundations go super pale – and I am pale af. So, automatically it has removed my biggest issue – foundations looking really dark on me. It’s a matte finish, without being too drying, it was easy to apply (I used a damp Real Techniques Miracle Complexion sponge). I would say it’s medium coverage, you build it, but it will start to look a little heavy. It feels comfortable and easy to wear on the skin, and basically on first application this foundation is perfection in a bottle.

However, thats when it starts to you let you down. For a matte foundation, you look pretty oily after only a few hours – and I have dry skin if anything, so that was weird. However, with a bit of powder, it’s easily fixed. And then it starts to wear off. Don’t get me wrong, it wears off really nicely – like it doesn’t cling to dry patches, or go weirdly patchy, it just fades. I’ve tried a number of primers, but I just can’t get this foundation to last more than 6 hours – which, for someone who works for 8 hour shifts.. this really isn’t helpful. However, if I’m going out for the evening, or if I’m only going to have my makeup on for a few hours, this in 100% the foundation I am going for.

It’s just a shame it doesn’t last – or at least, it doesn’t last on me.
