2016 Makeup Favourites

I have tried soo many products this year it’s actually insane. So, I thought I would create a little collection here of my favourites from the year. Also, at the bottom of the blog post is my YouTube video of me creating an everyday makeup look including the products listed here!

Base Products

More or less everyday I’ve started with the Max Factor Face Finity All Day Flawless Primer, this stuff is incredible; it is somewhere inbetween a moisturiser and a silicone primer. It doesn’t prolong your makeup too much, but your makeup sits so beautifully ontop. The foundation of choice has 100% been the Bourjois City Radiance Foundation, it’s a lightweight foundation with good coverage and a beautifully natural finish. There are 3 concealers this year that I have been loving! Benefit Boing Concealer is a super high coverage concealer that is a perfect colour match, the Bourjois Radiance Reveal Concealer is perfect for under the eyes; illuminating and brightening. To finish off, the Rimmel Match Perfection Concealer is a brilliant high coverage, yet lightweight concealer. To finish off the base products, the Soap and Glory One Heck of a Blot powder just rounds off the base beautifully. It mattifies everything down without looking powdery.

Cheek Products

These are basically the only few products I’ve been using for the last few months. When I contour it has to be the Smashbox Contour Kit, the contour shade in this is just the perfect colour; not too cool or too warm. And it blends like a dream. To bronze up the face I have two favourites, both are stunning bronzers, and both have a place in my heart; the Body Shop Honey Bronzer and the Benefit Hoola Bronzer. For powder blush, the Model Co Blush in Cosmopolitan is the perfect blush shade; like literally it’s the shade you blush. If I’m going for a cream blush it’s the Rimmel Royal Blush, these are actually the nicest cream blushes. They blend really well, they apply nicely ontop and underneath other makeup. And the packaging is beautiful. And to top off the face makeup, the best highlighter of all time is the Sleek Solstice Palette, while I only actually use one shade out of this palette. It’s stunning, and its glow factor is blinding, but somehow still natural.

Eyebrow & Eye Products

The 3 eyeshadow palettes of choice are the Miss Sporty Quad in Smokey Brown Eyes, the GOSH Eyeshadow Palette in To Enjoy in New York and Max Factor Smokey Eye in Sumptuous Gold. These three all create their own perfect eye look; brown, purple/taupe and gold/copper. They’re pigmented, easy to blend, and apply like a dream. For eyeliner the Soap and Glory Supercat Eyeliner is pigmented, easy to apply, and the first eyeliner that I ever learn to use, and I’ve loved ever since. There are 2 mascaras that give similar effects (just I only have one, as the other has run out) and they are the Mayebelline Lash Sensational and Bourjois Volume Reveal Mascara. Both do a little bit of everything; volume, length, definition and curl. I love both of them!

For eyebrows, the only product I’ve ever loved, let alone really used is the Maybelline Brow Satin Pencil. It’s fool proof, lasts for ever, and I will never use anything else.

Lip Products

I actually can’t believe I managed to limit this down to a select few; all nudes, because they’re the only ones I use regularly. My two Mac Lipsticks in Faux and Hot Gossip are my go to’s. Hot Gossip being significantly more pink, but they’re both gorgeous nude shades. Rimmel Kate Moss Lipstick in My Nude comes in beautiful rose gold packaging, and as we all know, I love these lipsticks. They are stunning! Easy to apply, long lasting, comfortable, what more could you want? For a lip crayon it has to be the No.7 High Shine Crayon in Delicate Pink, these are the most comfortable lip options of all time – literally, they feel like a lip balm. And then the three liquid lipsticks; I feel like 2016 has been the year for liquid lipsticks. They actually all exactly the same colour; a pink toned nude. They’re all matte, and all have very similar formulas, but I feel like I wanted to mention all three; the NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in 19, the Collection Velvet Kiss Lip Cream in Caramel and the Bourjois  Rouge Edition Velvet in Nude-ist.

Let me know what your favourites of the year have been.
