For those of you who don’t know, a Shop my Stash post is where you look through your makeup collection and chose products you haven’t used for a while, or even products you are still yet to use, and then you – well – use them. I feel like a have to say, when I chose these products, it was sunny down in Southampton, and so a lot of these are Spring/Summer orientated… but I will be using these for the next month or so, and so (I hope) there will be some sun at some point; welcome to England.
I chose 7 products that I have had sitting in my collection for a while, and apart from the Sleek Palette, I have yet to use one of them… terrible I know. Basically, I’m going to try and incorporate these into my ‘everyday makeup’ and try and start to use them. Then, either at the end of the 30 day period, or in a week or two, I will update you and let you know how I got on with them.
So the first item I have actually used (only a few times though), and it’s the California Sleek Blush Palette. I first bought this about 5 months ago – just at the end of the last summer – thinking it was a trio of powder blushes, only then to get it home and discover I’d picked up a palette of cream blush. In my displeasure of this discovery, I put it away at the bottom of my makeup collection and forgot about it. Hence why I haven’t really got any use out of it. But, I love my Collection Speedy Blush (which is a creamy blush in a stick form), and so I feel like Cream blushes are great, and so I want to get some more use out of this palette.
I am a keen Nail Polish collector, and so I find there are a lot of nail polishes in my collection I don’t get a lot of use out of, however most of them have a purpose (e.g. I have an emerald green, which I don’t wear much, unless I’m doing something Ireland related with my boyfriend). But there are two nail polishes that I have owned for a while that I don’t think I have ever used, and they are Topshop Nail Polishes in the shades Wide Awake (the orange) and Movie Star (the purple). Topshop makeup is a brand I haven’t really tried, and nail polishes for me are my favourite (alongside lipsticks) makeup item, and so if I end up loving these, then that will be a good sign.
Kiko have been everywhere at the moment, after opening a series of stores across the UK, and I always watch videos or read blog posts and wish I owned something by them to try. And then while looking through my collection for this post I came across the KIKO Velvet Touch Creamy Stick Blush in the shade 04! I owned something by KIKO, and I had completely forgotten. I actually have no recollection of how I managed to come by this in the first place but here it is. I’m not sure if it’s a shade that’s going to entirely suit me, but I just can’t believe I haven’t even noticed or remembered that I owned this.
I remember trying the Soap and Glory Pillow Plump in the store, and I couldn’t make my mind up about the whole tingly feeling on your lips. But it was on offer (3 for 2, or something similar), and so I picked it up, and then never used it. I have it in the shade Cherry, which is a lovely bold red with a sort of berry undertone. And I’ve been getting more into the bold lips recently (since getting hold of the Elizabeth Arden Lipsticks – which I love), and so I thought it would be time to try and give this product an actual test run.
I use the first Barry M Natural Glow Palette a fair bit, and so I picked up the Barry M Natural Glow Palette 2 (shadow and primer) ages ago thinking I’d love it too. However I just never used it, I find I can create so many great eyeshadow looks with my other palettes, this one gets forgotten. It also comes with an eyeshadow primer – which if it works that’ll be pretty cool.
The last item on my list is another eye shadow item, and it’s the Bourjois Colour Boost in the shade Rose Fauviste. I bought this as an eyeshadow base a while back, and then not long after purchased my first Maybelline Colour Tattoo, and then this was forgotten about. So I feel like it’s time to get it back out again.
So this gives you an idea of the products that have been sitting in the back of my makeup collection gathering dust, and the products that I am going to try and use over the next while. I will update you on them when I find out how they’re going, and I’ll let you know at some point in a cheeky bonus blog post!
