Review: Barry M Aquarium Nail Polish

If you’ve ever read my blog before, you will know I am OBSESSED with Barry M Nail Polishes, especially the Gelly range. The colour range is amazing, the application is nice and they look stunning! Also, the Daylight Curing Nail Polishes are great too!

However, I am here today to talk to you about another range of their Nail Polishes;

The Aquarium Collection

The first thing to say is the packaging is pretty cool! They come in the standard Barry M packaging. But, they come with the most adorable lids with a sort of fish scale print on them, and I just love them! They’re so cute. (Sorry obsessed…..)

I only have two shades from this range, there are 7 in total;

Mediterranean, Caspian, Pacific, Arabian, Persian, Treasure Chest, Atlantis.

They are all gorgeous shades, and I really do hope to one day own all of them. I’m not entirely sure about Treasure Chest and Atlantis, but that’s a personal thing against glitter nail polishes and how difficult they are to get off your nails, not Barry M.

I own two shades from the range, and I have to say they are both stunning. They are a mirror two-tone nail paint, which means they glisten in two different colours depending on what light is reflecting off them. I’ve never seen nail polishes like this from any other makeup brand, and I am in love.

Mediterranean is a beautiful mix of pink, gold and orange (I mean I know this is three colours, not two, but the gold has a sort of orange tint to it, or vice versa). And I think the colours blend together beautifully, and it’s soon becoming one of my favourite colour combinations – even off of my nails!

Persian is a more purple toned nail polish, with hints of gold (depending what light hits your nail polish). It’s stunning, and I feel like this is a really nice colour for the evenings or special occasions as it’s less vibrant than Mediterranean, but it’s still a little more than your average nail polish.

They apply very much like the rest of the Barry M nail polishes. You only need 2 or 3 coats (depending on how thick you have each coat), they dry relatively quickly, and they last a good 3 or 4 days without chipping (if you use a top coat).

I can’t vouch for the 2 very glittery shades of this range, but I can say that the two I have remove just as easily as any other nail polishes with Nail Polish remover. Now, this was a surprise for me. I know they don’t contain big chunks of glitter, but they contain a sort of very fine glitter, and so I thought they’d be a nightmare to get off – they really weren’t. This made the whole experience a heck of a lot nicer!

I am currently loving these Nail Polishes at the moment from Barry M. They’re only £3.99, and I think they are a must-have for any Nail Polish Enthusiast (there are probably no such things, but I’ve decided that I am going to label myself as one…).
