You see, I love watching these on YouTube, I find that if someone has completely used a product up, then they have really formulated an opinion on it. So here’s my very first empties post! Giving you guys the scoop through my trash to know which beauty products I love and which ones I would use again

Soap and Glory Sugar Crush Body Scrub

If you haven’t smelled this then you are missing out! This product smells better than anything you’ll have ever smelt before (that is, only if you love really sweet and quite sickly smells; which I love!). You have to adjust to the really thick, and somewhat sticky (it isn’t actually, but it sorta seems like it) texture and just go ahead and rub away! It leaves you skin feeling really smooth, but not as hydrated as the next product;

The Body Shop Strawberry Body Polish

I’m not going to go into too much detail about this product, because I’ve recently written a full review about this (which you can read here). But, in essence, this is amazing! It’s not as heavy as the Soap and Glory Body Scrub, and so it doesn’t ‘scrub’ as strongly. However, it makes up for this by how your skin feels after; super hydrated and really soft!

Balance Me Super Toning Body Polish

Now this is something I didn’t like. It costs over 4 times the price of the other two products, and I just didn’t get on with it. It contains sea shells and is meant to be a gentle exfoliator (sounds great). But I found I ended up using nearly the entire bottle in one go, because it just doesn’t seem to go anywhere, it disappears in an instance and I wouldn’t pay the money for it.

Philip Kingsley Elasticizer

I say I love reading these posts because it will be stuff that everyones had the change to really use… and then I include a sample product… But, I feel like something has to be said about it. Let me tell you a fact, now hold on to your seats, a full size bottle of this starts from £30?! Now, I love me a hair mask, but I wouldn’t spend that much on one, ever. Now we’ve got that out of the way, let me tell you about how I got on with it. The idea of this is that it strengthens your hair, and I don’t think I quite used it for long enough, but I could feel some sort of difference. But it made my hair feel so dry, I’d have to use a very moisturising hair mask to make my hair shiny and smooth again. So, maybe if you used this in conjunction with something else (as it is a pre-shower treatment) it would be great, I just can’t justify the price tag.

Herbel Essences Hello Hydration Intensive Mask

Now this is more in my budget! (at under £4) And I have a sort of love hate relationship. Yes, it does what it says on the tin, it leaves your hair feeling super soft, hydrated and shiny! My hair looks so healthy and radiant. However, it’s a very heavy mask and so weighs it down and I lose a lot of volume, and with hair as long as mine (I guess it’s easy to do but) it doesn’t look great. So, I mean it’s affordable and it does exactly what it says, so I can’t really complain.

Batiste Dry Shampoo

I always get the scent Cherry and I love this stuff, it’s usually on offer at around £2-3 and it amazing, it saves me loads of time in the morning washing and drying my hair and also leaves it smelling amazing! My only complaint is a bottle doesn’t last very long, but then again it’s not very expensive and so this doesn’t really matter I guess.

Benefit They’re Real Mascara

This is my go to mascara at the moment (that and the Elizabeth Arden Beautiful Color Lash Enhancing Mascara). It’s totally worth the hype, I find it gives great volume and length and it doesn’t end up half way down your face by the end of the night. I won’t go into more detail about it, because you can read a review of the first time I owned one here (yeah, I think I’m now on my third or fourth mascara).

Rimmel Wonderfull Mascara

I guess I used it up, so I didn’t hate it that much, but I don’t think I would buy this again. I used to wear it when I just wanted a little something but not really anything (ok that made no sense). It’s a wonderful lightweight mascara that doesn’t clump (like at all). It contains Argan Oil, so it’s meant to condition your lashes as well. But it just didn’t WOW me, and so I don’t think I’ll be repurchasing.

Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer

What is there to say really? This stuff is amazing, everyone raves about this, and everybody loves this. If you haven’t tried it before, where have you been?

Zoella Candy Cream Softening Body Lotion

This stuff was really great. I loved the entire range, you can read about my thoughts here, and this was definitely one of my standouts. It was really buttery and moisturising, the pink beads that burst gave it a little something extra and sorta made it fun, and it left your skin feeling great. Plus, it smelled great (as does the entire range).

Next Gold Hand Cream

I picked this up in a gift set once, and because of its compact size I chucked it in my handbag for the days out. And although it was ok, it was very watery and so left your hands feeling more wet than moisturised. To be honest there are just better hand creams out there, but then again I didn’t buy it and its not something I ever hear anyone talking about, so…

No.7 Beautiful Skin Purifying Exfoliator

I was bought this for Christmas along with another No.7 skincare item (the Foaming Cleanser), and although I do like the other product, I didn’t get on with this one. However, that’s not to say it’s not a good product. It just didn’t get on with my skin. It’s designed for oily skin types and so it ended up really drying out the patches of my face that are already naturally dry.

Tee Tree Witch Hazel Facial Wash

The first time I used this I hated it. It dried out my skin, it felt like charcoal, it was a creepy black colour. And, so I put it away and didn’t use it for about a month. Then I had a crazy spot breakout, and discovered the power of witch hazel (as cheesy as that sounds, I’m about to write a blog post on how amazing witch hazel is at fighting spots). I began using this for that, and then moisturising straight after. And alongside two other products (that I’ll discuss later), it cleared it up. And for that reason this product was great. You just have to get over the fact that it feels weird covering your face in something that smells like charcoal.

Baylis and Harding Soap

I mean soap is soap right? I never really buy a bottle more than once, and I’d never really spend that much on it.

What have you finished this month?

  1. Wow, you finished all that in a month! I rarely ever finish a product, but when I do I feel like throwing a party, lol! I used the Body Shop Strawberry Polish a long time ago and I remember really loving it.
